Unfortunately for me, my arachnophobia is far more developed than any of you here. It pisses me of when game developers decide to put spiders in games; especially in RPG games, like there isn't anything else they can imagine as a scary enemy...make it a scorpion like they did in Fallout 3 for example. With fearing something and having a phobia about that thing, there's a huge difference. I assure you, none of the arachnophobics who has the game can't look at the screen when those 8 legged freaks pops out in the screen. I taught my 70 years old dad to play Resident Evil and that's how i got through that game. It's one of the most common phobias on this planet and i detest Bioware for doing this to people like me. I paid for the game but yet i can't play it
Has anyone heard about such a mod or a cheat that removes spiders in this game, i want to play it so bad but it's impossible for me to do so at this state...i'm begging you people

Man, you guys need to get in a fight sometimes or something. If you can't deal with an insect which isn't even 2 cm big, how do you deal with the rest of your life? Ask yourself why you are so scared of such a harmless little spider.
A little spider isn't going to hurt you. On the contrary, they eat all kinds of annoying stingy flying bugs who CAN hurt you.
This ofcourse only applies to people who don't live in deserts or australia. They have those big nasty black spiders who can puncture a human toenail and kill you with their poison.
And the desert? Well they have this!

It's like what? 8 inches?

Being scared of spiders, having a phobia about it, arachnophobia or whatever the hell this problem...has absolutely NOTHING about them hurting the person with the problem, at least in my case, it's not it. This fear is called a phobia, it's an irrational feeling, you can't just easily explain why you have that. I'm scared to death when i see one, i don't know why. The way they look, the way they move, their webs etc. These are computer animated spiders we're talking about by the way, you don't think that i'm afraid of them hurting me, do you

@Gibberish Driftwood: Don´t feed the trolls.
I´m not arachnophobic, but I can understand the problem. In the german RPG "Drakensang" there was a whole spider-level. After hundreds of requests the developer made of second version without spiders.
But modding for the Xbox is not possible till now.

Thank you @DeepImpact.
I have the PC version and i'm waiting for such a mod
Some folk at Dragon Age Nexus made a mod called "Spiders be Gone" replacing the spiders' textures with solid colours to make it more tolerable but unfortunately it's not good enough, they're still animated spiders
I have the PC version and i'm waiting for such a mod

It's funny cause Im not scared of dragons, darkspawn, demons, arcane horrors, or anything in the game. The spiders, though, scare me to death. I'm in the Brecilian Forest and I hate those furry ,eight-legged, little bastards. I can battle them but I just jump when I see them coming out of nowhere!

My fiancee got freaked out by the spiders too. I will admit they sort of appear out of nowhere and just go "HISSSSS" and you're like OH CRAP!

The fact that arachnophobia can be so intense as to cause panic when seeing only a virtual spider, is fascinating. I mean it really shows us that we aren't in control of what goes on in our brains. Anyway I'd love to buy the game, it's gotten such great reviews and I've played it at a friends' house but the spiders are just too much. I have a pretty bad case of arachnophobia and I've tried getting rid of it in several ways, but nothing seems to have worked so far. The worst thing about this game is that the spiders have a tendency to jump at you when you least expect it. I mean I've gotten past levels with spiders in them before such as in might and magic VII and the like. But in this game it's just awful. I couldn't even finish the first wizard quest in the tower.
One thing that I just can't understand is why are giant spiders a must have in fantasy games. The Witcher didn't need them as far as I know. I mean basically the developers have the infinity of the human imagination at their disposal and therefore the capacity to produce enemies that are interesting and colorful. But all that they can come up with is :"Hey let's just take some insect and make it really big". Fantasy games don't need spiders or giant insects to be successful.
Oh and for those that tell arachnophobes to just "get over it". Well how about you try this - Go to the kitchen, turn on the stove, place your hand in it and then just rationalize away how the heat and the pain are all just impulses sent to your brain and you should just ignore them.

I've never really understood arachnophobia. Spiders being such common insects, useful at getting rid of more annoying insects, spinning such intricate webs... I mean, there are people afraid of everything out there, but the prevalence of arachnophobia baffles me.
Then again, I can almost relate, as I have an odor-related phobia. There's a physical reason and all, so it's not entirely irrational, but I get disgusted at words related to it, or when I see it on TV or whatnot, which do not trigger the physical reaction, so it becomes irrational in those instances.
It's likely that arachnophobia's prevalence is actually a root of why fantasy settings have giant spiders so often. Just as I cannot see Big N removing skulltullas from a Zelda game though, I really can't see BW removing these giant spiders.
I remember the time I saw the most perfect spider web I've ever seen. I was in high school at the time, and was home alone for the week. I let the dogs in and out through the back door, neglecting to look up when I did so. When my parents returned, they pointed it out and I saw... A spider had constructed a web that covered almost the entire back doorway, leaving room for the dogs to pass under it. It was very much a natural work of art. A perfect spiral with perfectly crossing lines. Unfortunately, we need to use our back door occasionally, so we took the web down, but we spread it over a nearby bush, not to completely destroy.this spider's work.

first step is to address the issue, identify it and take the steps to over come it, or solve it. As a human bean you can over come this issue....maybe first step is this game ....then next is a real life spider in a pet shop or something of that nature...
LMAO! I'm a human BEAN.
Sorry. I just couldn't let it go.
