As I'm sure all of you are aware, James Vega is entering the scene as a squaddie. Good to see new content.

However, the such raises the question-What would make him stand out as a character, in a series that already has several "revered" characters? And do so in a new and unique way?

He can't be one of Tali's giddy schoolgirl nerdiness.

He can't calibrate like Garrus does.

He can't have Miri's boobs and icy heart.

He can't have Thane's ninjaness.

And so forth.

Taking that into account, what would make Mr. Vega a character that you liked? Or even loved and followed? Interesting, unique, and one you could empathize with? What would "make" James Vega?

He has a semi-mohawk, good enough for me. I already liked him before the comic, but the comic gave me an idea of what his personality is going to be like, so I'm excited to see his character unfold. He seems like someone who isn't proud of something in his past, or regrets something, so it influences his actions and outlook towards whatever happens in ME3 (that's just the vibe I'm getting from the comic).

After seeing the comic, I'm quite excited for him because he's a lot like how I imagined my canon Shep would be as a youngster in the Alliance. I bet he'll be off-putting to most people, but I'm looking forward to taking him under my proverbial wing. It'll also be interesting to rock a Shepard/Vega/Alenko squad, three male Alliance soldiers, coming full-circle with ME1 with Vega in place of Jenkins (hopefully it won't end the same way).

In general I can always find SOMETHING to like/respect about every character even if I'm not a fan of them overall (except for Jacob, still can't find a reason to like that cat).

Hell if I know. I'm not one of those ass-clowns who says "I've already played ME3 and I know that he's a complete GoW ripoff character made to appease new fans".

Seriously people, grow up.

This, though I'm too chicken to say it in such a aggressive way. But to be fair, a lot of people started liking him after the comic, so...

I like him. honestly, he reminds me a little of Jim Raynor. and I love the design. I know people keep talking about GoW (and he does look a tiny bit like Marcus Phoenix) but in ME universe, we don't have a plethora of characters like that. so it gives him a bit of a different vibe IMO.

looking forward to getting to know him

Well, there are a few actors/voice actors that could probably make me like Vega if they were to be his voice actor...

Then again, I just want something that is most likely never going to happen. That thing being Vega being voiced by Nathen Fillion and Kal'Reeger becoming a perminent squad memeber. That way i can pretend they are actually their charecters from Firefly...

What? I can dream, can't I?

Being able to say "Vega! Horn drill!" with voice recognition.

Already like him. He strikes me as being like Shepard was after Akuze/Torfan. Angry, bitter, looking for his place in the universe. Bioware has been good to us in the past, I'm looking foward to meeting him in the game.

If Vega was really an alien in a human costume. Enough humans already, aliens are more interesting!

Nah, I had enough 'interesting aliens' in ME2, at the expense of being forced not to have Ash in my game. We've barely even seen any real Alliance soldiers in the game, having Vega and the VS onboard is gonna be awesome.

I'm going to refrain from judgment until after I've gotten to know him in the game.

Probably on my second playthrough, or third, I typically stick with my favorite characters the first time and start branching out on latter playthroughs.

I'd like him (in a non homosexual way) if he doesn't put up with crap from renegade Shepard.

Between Ash and Jimmy, Soldier Shep isn't going to have enough heatsinks for the amount of killing she needs to keep her raging libido in check.
