I kinda already like him... in a "I have no reasons to dislike him" way.

Things I'd rather see?

- no family problems, please. Especially Carth syndrome.

- no vendetta with other squadmate. Leave kindergarten in ME2.

- lots of dialogue, no matter if it will be stories of his adventures, tactical advises, or - a girl can dream - James asking Shepard on his feelings about current situation. Squadmates who aren't big on forcing such talks really got on my nerves.

- reasonable armour. No lolspandex (great universe, that was disturbing mental image), no exposed parts, no breather mask in space.

Strangely, that's all I need. Apparently being normal guy in a company of very special snowflakes is enough to be interesting.

They tried to make a guy who would personally talk to Shepard (Kaidan) that failed. They tried to make a guy who is all serious and no time for personal moments (Jacob) that failed too. So pretty much nothing will satisfy us.

I'm just going to get all my butthurt out in the open and say I'd like him a lot more if he weren't taking the place of previous squaddies.

I'll like him if he's well-written. I just don't want him, as someone representing new ME fans, to have an exposition force field that causes all characters within a given radius to suffer from Navi the Fairy Syndrome. If he does, he will get my instant nerd HAET.

Admiral, I have to say, as a fellow fan,  I absolutely love all of your meme references. 


As for James, I didn't read his backstory in the leaked script, but I hear on the grapevine that his past is intense, but that he's a great character. Honestly, I haven't seen so much positive response for a new character for a long time, so I can't wait to see him in March! Whoot!

I liked him from the start. I didn't initially because the image presented was that Cyborg Cerberus agent, but when his image was officially released, I liked him cause he reminded me of Soap MacTavish in COD4 Modern Warfare. And Soap is a gigantic badass!

Soap was just great, one of my favorite characters in that game, I suggest looking up a few of his scenes on youtube.
