This is kind of out of nowhere, but when moving between areas early in ch2, you are waylaid by a group of slavers, two of which have names but I don't remember them.  Anyway, once they're dead they drop a lot of goodies, one of which is 'Necklace'.  That's it.  'Necklace'.  It's red and gold, and doesn't look exactly like any other necklace in the game, AFAIK.  The description of the necklace is just the generic necklace description, wearing it doesn't seem to do anything, and it's only worth 1GP  when you try to sell it at a shop.

It bothered me on my first run but I figured it was just part of a quest and I'd figure it out once I read a walkthrough.  I'm following Dan Simpson's walkthrough this time to see everything I missed, but it makes no mention of it, and I didn't see anything about in a quick google search either. FWIW, 'slaver necklace' by itstelf is NOT a good term to put in a search.

Anybody know what this is?  Or is it just a remnant of a quest that didn't get into the game?

Sounds like it's just the simplest / cheapest necklace you can find - there is one called 'necklace'. Nothing special about it I'm afraid.

See, they're just screwing with me . . .

I thought it might be part of something larger mostly because two of the enemies had names, but I guess it's just like the named vampires, just there for color. Thanks for the quick reply.

IIRC, those two named NPC's are actually part of skipped content from Valygar's questline. I vaguely remember there being a mod that restores the content.

Suna Seni and Eldarin fight, in that battle the real loot is the short sword.
Plain 'Necklace' is item code Amul02, it seems to have no meaningful properties.

The mod is Unfinished Business, apparently she was meant to have a larger role in the game. Her role is expanded on in UB, and done well albeit not in the same manner as Bioware intended I think, I read somewhere that the Spellhold part of the story was originally going to be something else?
