As we approach release day (3 DAYS LEFT!!!), it seems as though the toolset is beginning to grow in popularity. I myslef am familiar with the concept of toolsets, but I don't have any actual experience using one. Becoming experienced in the art of creating content is going to be one of my goals with this game.

So I am aware that the toolset is only available to the PC console, but how, and when, do you actually get it?

I would imagine it would be included with the game, either on one of the installation discs or as a separate disc, depending on its size. It may or may not be an optional part of installation - someone who already has the game might be able to tell you.

I see. That would be pretty interesting if it came as a separate disk. Unfortunately I don't really know anyone who has a copy of the game. But, I guess I'll just be patient for three more days.

I don't know all the details, but the toolset will be made available via download. As far as I know, it doesn't come with the installation disk.

I too will be using the toolset as my homework and fantasy outlet. Of course the mods from the already experinced modders will be my guide and inspiration. Just like Fallout3 Nexus

I wonder if there's Any chance that the toolset will have some kind of introductory voice-over or video interface for first time users? The NWN toolset was expressive & complex, but had a fairly high learning curve for a beginner, in my opinion.

I don't think it will have that. But there will be a good hoard of very awesome beginner tutorials :)

The NWN toolset was easier to use than the NWN2 toolset, in my opinion, but the DA toolset is about the same complexity level as the NWN2 one (making it also more complex than the NWN one).

On the positive side, the DA toolset is a lot more stable, and there are better tutorials available at launch.

If you want to prep up a bit, it certainly wouldn't learn to bit of programming basics. While you won't be learning the actual language that the toolset learns, it would be extremely valuable to learn the logic of programming such as loops and if statements. Any tutorial on Python should cover these basics. Thats if you've never programmed before.

it would be nice if it was a disc in the box. But they will probably attach it thorugh EA download manager or something.

Loved the original NWN toolset, and Lucys? script generator. Perhaps someone will make something similiar for those of us who hate syntax.

If you haven't already viewed it, check out the Toolset Wiki. Link is on the Dragon Age main page IIRC.

Good advice, thanks. Its nice to consider gaining skill in something like programming, from the consideration of playing a video game!

Toolset is not with the disk, or at least not included with the collectors edition. Bonus disk doesn't have it or tutorials for it either.

The toolset is supposedly going to be available here:

http://social.biowar...t.php#downloads

Take note that if you've registered the game you either get a 404 page or a page that says the toolset will be released "in the near future", which is a joke as far as I'm concerned....I hope... :bandit:

The toolset has to be downloaded - specifically, from here: http://social.bioware.com/toolset.php

As for tutorials - see the Toolset Wiki - and expect more totorials in the next weeks and months.

I registered my game, but it still says registration needed, then links you back to the registration page.

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm assuming it's a problem with Bioware's site--because I've run into several others. Constantly getting the age verification BS, having to input the game registration code about 30 times before it'd work, etc.

Just found out that not only do you have to register the game, but you also need to have it fully installed to install the toolset.
