Really? Because Smudboy's that bad? If this thread were started by anyone else would you override another moderator? I know you're dying to close that Smudboy thread though. It shows through since you actually mention it.
Despite how much fun this thread may be, it's a spam thread and can get ugly real quickly with any number of words in those text bubbles. Live with the consequences.
The smudboy thread is messed up because it's a direct attack on some person in the world; at least that's why I can't stand it. It feels wrong to single somebody out. It's a forum rule I've carried out on my forums, and I've seen it on plenty of others as well.
As for the thread overruling, I completely agree with the mod. And what would the thread author have to do with unlocking the thread?
This thread isn't spam because A. It pertains to Mass Effect 3. B. It allows those who like the Mass Effect series to make their own versions of the comic based on the Mass Effect Series, or anything else in the world that can make us laugh. C. Mass Effect 3 General Discussion? Anything that involves ME3 is allowed, and I'm pretty sure the comic slots the OP gave us is from an ME3 comic.
Obviously people can put up one of the pictures with any amount of bad language, or hurtful remarks, or anything that you can think of. People can do that with anything, anywhere. I've yet to seen one user on here do something like that, and to do it is just wierd.
Your post is full of logical fallicies and ill-thought assumptions. Please, find something better to do than try and bash on a moderator. It's rude and it's a waste of time.
The Smudboy thread didn't start out as an attack on Smudboy. The thread starter did however join in the pile on. It appears that the thread starter might have opened it knowing the reaction it would get, but there's no way of knowing and now it's more or less constructive.
I called the mod out on nepotism by mentioning the thread starter. Some time ago he locked a thread that wasn't mine and wasn't started by anyone I know on the basis that the person might be a troll (based on what the mod perceived to be trollish behavior), but the stance posed by that thread's OP didnt' hint at anything fishy. And, looking at responses and not just threads started by said OP there wasn't any trollish behavior. It brought up the question about whether ME3 would be good, but that couldn't stand. For that I call him out on objectivity.
I also call him out because this thread looks like something Stanely Woo would close. It's very loosely ME3 related. It's purpose is to get people to post pictures from a new ME comic with any random messages they want. In what way is that constructive?
Also the way the unlock was done was disrespectful. It should have been discussed and then opened. In a nut shell he basically said "because I don't see a problem with the thread being open I'm unlocking it despite what you've said". That's abuse of powers given to him. Selene can say it's okay to keep the piece, but he overruled her when it's not his place to do so and it's something you just don't do. So I call him out on it because it's my place to do so? No I call him out because this is not the first time, as I've said, where he acts in opposition to the way he's supposed to operate as a moderator.
Anyway I''ve said my piece.
