Short of some medical breakthrough where the Quarians are able to survive being outside of those enviro-suits for extended periods, I don't think their relationship would work. Physical contact between the two is extremely risky, and quite frankly, selfish on Shepard's part. If he truly cares about her he shouldn't be trying to risk her health just to get off, particularly on an ongoing basis.

Furthermore the Quarians are a Dextro amino acid based species. Humans and Quarians cannot eat the same food. How do two people live together when they cannot even eat the same food or cook with the same utsensils?

Dump her for Kasumi?

Ehh, okay, a little cold maybe.

If the Salarians can make a disease that alters Krogan fertility, couldn't they make one that bolsters Quarian immune systems?

There were like billions of Krogan I assume. They had ample test subjects, and a huge budget for their "oops". There are 17 million-ish Quarians who aren't that liked much anyways.

Actually a real life relationship with Tali and Shepard would not be that much of a risk. Unfortunately Bioware didnt do their homework, and made it more dangerous than it actually is.

I don't know in my mind it probably can't there is the huge issue of someone is going to be suit bound. Tali has to be off of Rannoch and once we get Rannoch back there will come a point were she can be suit free however shep will have to stay suit bound the plant life will cause respiratory issues at best and kill him at worse so he has to be in suit.

There is the whole living thing according to the woman on Illium Quarinas cost lots of money to house so shep living with Tali outside of Rannoch will take money for her well being on Rannoch it'll be expensive for shep to live there for his well being.

Just the normal hassle of life will realistically be a challenge everyday and every night so while me as a fan of Tali/Sheps love would so love it to be one of those perfect it'll last till death do them part loves if this was reality they would both come to the realization it just can't work.

I can see Tali pulling an Alister on us in 3 because of her people primarily. We don't know how Quarians view amino/dextro loves we do know from fleet and flotilla dextro/dextro is ok and of course dating withing Quarians is preferred. For all we know there will be an uproar in both galactic and Quarian communities if Tali/sheps relationship gets broadcast will this lead to the Quarians demanding her to separate? Will they wish to exile her again to save face? The social implications are unclear on the Quarian end we know via in game evidence how unhappy other civilizations are with the Quarians both on an individual bases and towards the whole fleet so if it gets out I can imagine and would expect trouble for them at that point I'd love to defend her.

If Tali pulls an Alister I hope we can at least make her change her mind if we made curtain perimeter checks happen something that was super easy to miss with Alister.

Its called nerve stim programs people. Its used all the time in the ME universe for any sexual intimacy between races that can't touch physically. Like volus and asari, or humans and quarians.

It would be just fine.

I seem to recall tali saying that what she experiences is an allergic reaction until the body adapts to it. So 1 of 2 things could happen, either 1. her immune system adapts to shephards levo - dna or 2. the reactions get worse (which sometimes happens with allergies). the bacteria and viruses that affect Shepard will not have the same effect on tali due to their different DNA types, other then the aforementioned allergic reaction.

If her immune system DOES adapt to him, then eventually she should be able to be with him without the boosters and such outside of the suit more often, but only in "clean" rooms. Asked my mom who is a nurse about it and she said theoretically that's what could happen. As to what WILL happen is anyone's guess and Bioware's decision to make. I'm reminded of a quote from Jurrasic Park, "Life will find a way" - Ian Malcom.  And Life is random and chaotic no one truely has control of how it will work.

A long lasting relationship wouldn't be possible, but the same is true about most of the romances in mass effect, and since its a video game the power of love will conquer all

A successful relationship doesn't necessarily involve f*cking constantly.

I mean, by god, if sex was all there was to a relationship, I'd have sixteen more siblings and my parents would be divorced.

That's true lol.

I would honestly stay with tali.  I don't care much about intimacy.  It really depends on ideals because if you want to make it work then there will always be a way to make it work.

Thad would be cool however I would like my Shepard to be able to eat mushrooms during the mission and harbinger should also keep Tali locked up in a castle and should be defeated when Shepard jumps repeadatly on his head.

Most fanfics suggest sterilizing Shep's quarters and installing a small airlock/sterilizer (Like when entering the Normandy) in the doorway. Not that she couldn't just build up an immunity to Shep by simply getting intimate soon after recovering from the previous, ah, fun night, but it'd make it a lot simpler with a sterilizer.

And if Shep's willing to spend 50,000+ creds on an upgrade for the Sniper he barely uses, I think he just might be up for spending another 20,000 for something that'll allow leet sexytimes with his hot alien girlfriend nightly.

So really, with Tali, the longer it goes, the easier it becomes.

Maybe in ME3 if they manage to take the quarion homeworld back from the geth, they can have sex there?

Quarians can take their suits off in their own planet if I'm not mistaken.
