It's your group that has behaved like over-entitled, arrogant children for the longest time. Do what you want in your bedroom but you ought to keep it there rather than making this huge deal out of it and expecting everybody to become bisexual in a video game.

... I admit that the word "homophobe" does get slung around a lot, but what you just said is exactly that. Extremely so.

So "phobia" no longer means fear? I r confused...

I like to ruin already established characters so I can get horny instead of just playing a male or female character to appropriately experience the romances as the writers intended them to be experienced.

The ones who display bisexual tendencies in ME3 will also be written, hence romancing them in-game will in fact be experiencing them as the writers intended.

In that case you ought to stop whining about it and be thankful, rather than expecting everybody be bisexual because you feel left out. BTW, eventually society is going to work its way out of this politically-correct craziness we see, providing we don't nuke ourselves to oblivion first.

Also funny, a lot of us thought the lack of choice was the bad design decisions. And if you are so opposed to retcons, why are you even arguing about this game, as it's full of retcons all over he place.

And I complain about those as well. I do, however, feel that realising the initial premise on which the series was built takes precedence over some shallow virtual "romances".

So because you don't want to share the toys, I suppose the only real solution is to take all of them out of the games going forward.  mmm hmmm.

Unlikely. Your putrid ideology is on its way out already, and will wither and die soon enough.
And I am thankful, and will continue to be so as player choice options remain expanded. And it shall be glorious.

Again, more of this backwards logic. 'Some poor design/plot descisions justify more retcons to suit my tastes'

You want what you want, we want want we want. So sad that you aren't going to get what you want going forward. BioWare isn't going to back away from s/s content now just because of a handful of very vocal people screaming about m/m content. Make a statement, don't buy the next game.. but thats not likely to happen.

I mean in one scenario, lots of people have options to play how they want. And it's nice for us to be thought of by these types of games for those of us who hate Sims and dating games, but like romance.

In the other scenario, fewer people have options to play what they want. And a few groups are ignored out right.

So, I pick inclusion. You don't need to pick the gay stuff and I don't need to pick the straight stuff. Everybody wins.

"Having an in-game option to toggle whether S/S interactions are possible is implying that S/S interactions are wrong"

LMAO.

By that argument, we should do away with the mute button, because it may imply that sound is bad.

So, anyone who happens to be against "every LI is bi" is either a **** or a biggot or a homophobe? I find the generalizations a bit disconcerting to be honest. What happened to being allowed to have an opinion without being attacked?

Wanting concrete and solid character writing =/= being a homophobe.

What the writers intended? I don't think the writers intend for all of this bisexual nonsense and are more worried about a good story elsewhere. If they add such content it will be shoehorned in and not "experienced as the writers intended." More so if they go with the "everybody's bisexual" DA2 route.

It's not just about fear. Hatred and antipathy are part of homophobia, as well.

Probably because "every LI is bi" as it pertains to Mass Effect is completely made up.

Can it wait for a bit, I'm in the middle of some... oh wait, what was I thinking? Exclusive optional romance content obviously supercedes content everyone should be able to access regardless of gender or sexuality.

Killing the sarcasm here, Mass Effect is all about options. Some things will not be for you. As for your choice of word "exclusive", I'd sooner use the word "inclusive".

It implies it's wrong because there's no one suggesting a corresponding option to toggle off the straight romances. I, for one, would love not to horribly hit on Jacob every time we chat.

^That. I don't much mind all the romance options being bisexual, homosexual, pansexual, transsexual, heterosexual, etc etc... What I do dislike about the romance themselves is how they develop over the course of the game. But that's an entirely different topic of discussion.

Seriously? Should people have to put "imo" after stating their opinions in every sentence?

It'd be awesome if everyone ended up being bisexual. I really liked that about Dragon Age 2. I mean that's what rpgs are all about, more choices. Having them all bi doesn't give anyone less choice everyone can play their own playthrough to how they'd like.

And look how it suffered in the choice department. Not just the choice/consequence one, because I've largely already given up hope for that one, but simple illusion of choice: there isn't a single real choice you make in that game.

It can also indicate an aversion to something.

You've got a rather narrow view of "reality".

Still, for what it's worth, and I know the feeling isn't mutual, I do enjoy arguing/debating with you about these kinds of things.

Elaborate?

If I didn't enjoy this on some depressing level, I wouldn't be here.

No one here has ever attacked heterosexual relationships.

If you don't like the direction Bioware are taking their games you're most welcome to not play them.

It might even be possible, however, to have a good 'third person action space RPG adventure' that also includes - shock horror - some emotional characterisation for the protagonist and significant crew.
