Who started this whole thing about
all romances becoming Bi? I do think that would make things suffer, because they will need more time for that. There are 9 possible choices for romance as it is, and only one goes both ways which makes 10 scenarios they have to work out. Make the other 8 bi and now they've got 18.
I think the large number we have already has shown to effect all the characters. That's why Garrus is calibrating all the time, that's why Tali is always cleaning the engines, Miranda is too busy around the ship to ever talk, Jacob only wants to brofist all the time, Thane's too busy meditating and Jack just doesn't want to talk. The point they all start doing that, is the point a romance could have taken off if you want to get anything more out of them.
It's not about the idea that not everyone is bi, it's about the fact it does take up space and time for the developer and they start to cut corners to make up for it. I noticed someone said "pulling and Obsidian" and they may have not meant it the way I thought, but I couldn't help thinking, oh dear, having all the romance options cut out for femShep because maleShep takes priority. I certainly hope not after all the crap of a lot of fans have been stiring for femShep(myself including).
Again, I do agree the fan base is way too focused on romances, there are a lot of choices already. I would like to have choices in romances, and I would like to have choices in friends. It's very strange to not have ever talked to Liara in the first game and she gets extremely upset (puppy dog eye upset) that you don't want to invite her over for wine in your room.
If Bioware somehow works it out, have fully dialogued characters I can talk to for most of the game, with a romance going on the side. Cool.
Realistically, I'd rather just have a handfull of Bi. Namely the ones they wrote out to be bi from the start and were cut do to time restraints and other crap. Kaidan and Ashley for sure, Thane and I think I've heard cut content for Miranda. If I'm mistaken about Miranda, I think it's pretty clear Tali was meant to be a romance for femShep considering that connecting suits line. I'd prefer Miranda, but whatever.
It's within their characters if they were initially written out that way. Just because they don't talk about it all the time doesn't make them straight. Sexuality is a personal thing. People have the right to not share it all the time and detail past relationships. They have the right to not "throw it in peoples faces and not keep it in the bedroom where it belongs" as certain people would put it.
