What one f*cks is still a part of who one is, and shouldn't be changed just because a few players want to f*ck somebody they can't. I think you're saying that you'll be upset if you ask Kaidan if he wants to make buttlove and he says yes.  Even though you could just, you know, not ask.  Technically, it's not a retcon if you never got to ask him before in the first place.  Unless there was some scene in ME1 that I missed where BroShep asks Kaidan if he loves him and he says no.

I agree that making all LIs bi would be kind of unrealistic, but so far no single character has raised the I AM EXCLUSIVELY STRAIGHT flag.

Except Mordin, but nobody gets to sleep with him.

LOL there is a clear difference between sex and gender, which people making pseudoscientific statements still haven't grasped. While all Asari are sexually female, they are monogendered, hence they aren't considered male or female in the sense that we would consider them, which allows for them to freely associate with either depending on which suits them best. Matriarch Aethyta for instance, claims she was the "father" in her pairing.

See, here is the huge failing with the argument - you go from the assumption that people are heterosexual unless they state otherwise ... what if the default were actually that all people are bisexual unless they state otherwise?  It is just as legitimate a stance to take and doesn't rely on a homophobic or heteronormative psychology to validate. (in fact, considering the fluidity of sexual preference during an adult life, as suggested by the Kinsey scale and later validated by further research, assumed bisexuality is probably a better foundation to argue from.)
