I am wondering at the best time to do Legacy. A couple of things have me stuck.

1) I want to get the extra approval for Grey Warden Carver - but this necessitates endgame, or an Act 1 Carver for the approval.

2) I probably expect Anders to be dead by Endgame, although I haven't done his quest yet... I just... get the feeling.  However, he also has *very* relevant dialogue in Legacy, due to him being a Warden.

What are other peoples thoughts???

I tend to do it some time in the middle of Act 2, the gear ranks about right and you've got enough skills that it's not to tough.
Just my personal opinion though.

I prefer to do it endgame. It doesn't really make sense for a level 8 or whatever Hawke to defeat the final boss of Legacy.

Act II or III is pretty good. Although I hear if you do it in Act I there is some dialog that changes from doing it later in the game.

Yeah... this is what I am saying - I am less concerned about the level of the *phat lewt*...

And more concerned about the relevance to the story, which leaves the original question about Carver and act 1 or Anders in act 3...

I always do it in act I, then Hawk gets to talk it over with Leandra.

I like doing it in Act II, personally. You get to team up with your sibling again and you don't have to worry about your companions being dead/gone.

Since it takes place before the final mission, even if you do it post-campaign, you will still have Anders available.

I've only done Legacy in Act 3 after you save your sibling from Grace. Thats typically been around level 23-24 for me.

Maybe Ill do Legacy is Act 2 this time, before Leandra dies.

You'll be level 11-12 when you finish Legacy in act 1

No, if you load a post-ending savem you still don't have any dead party members, even if they died after the start of the endgame.

I always do Legacy in late Act 3, rather than post-game. I just feel like it fits there, and I like where it falls vis-a-vis Grey Warden Carver interactions (since I tend to play mages).

I did it in Act 1. Was surprised at how well it fit.

I've always done it near the end of Act 1, just before the Deep Roads Expedition. I always take Bethany, Varric, and Anders.

I've started Act 2 at level 13 or 14 before because of the XP you can get in Legacy.

I've played all acts and, relevance-wise, it fits well. Of course, as they said, a low-leved Hawke defeating Legacy's boss is... strange, but not particulary deal-breaking or anything. There's a nice dialogue in the end of the DLC, but in my opinion it isn't as nice as the other two.

A Hawke of any level being able to defeat the final boss is a little odd, but I explained it to myself by theorizing that he's been severely weakened by all those centuries of sleep.

but if you do all quests from at act 1 along with collecting the reagents  youll already be at lv13 before starting the deep roads.

but back the legacy ive been doing in on act 3 for better item drops if nothing else, i dont realy see it fiting in right for act 1 compared to what your in act 1.
