But seriously. The whole s/s debate is ridiculous, it's not like Bioware is going to force you into a s/s romance. Fenris is still straight in my DA2 game (he's boinking Isabela, evidently), so there is no reason why Kaidan or Ash can't be straight in your playthrough too.

Honestly, the more vehement their opposition to anything s/s, the more I suspect some... personal confusion.

By the way, that's meant to be taken in a sarcastic golfclap context. 

For what it's worth, OP, I agree that people care way too much about romances in general, and ideally they'd stick to their threads (and since I post ponies everywhere, GO GO POWER HYPOCRISY!), but threads like this serve absolutely no purpose.

It just boggles my mind that people think it's okay to make a mean homophobic statement as long as they preface it with "I have a gay friend" or "I'm totes not a homophobe but-".  That's just not how it works.

Having a token gay, black, or female friend that you claim to respect does not mean you have somehow entered an exclusive club that gives you permission to make sexist, racist, or otherwise cruel statements.  At least not without getting called out on it.

S/S stuff seems to be way too important for some (are they trying to prove something?) and it annoys some people greatly. If OP meant that, I understand that. I personally just try to ignore it all. I'm rather conservative, straight man and to be honest I've never understand S/S relationships and never will.

Though, reading the title and first post kinda gives mixed feelings about OP. Is he actually ranting about everything?
