EDIT: Haha, I posted the rainbow one in a S/S thread. That was completely coincidental, I assure you
Ah, Freud was a crock in ways. He was projecting most of the time.

I laugh at the OP. People are going to make threads on forums like "i want more s/s romances" and people like you posting "stop the s/s romances" or "i have homosexual friends so i'm not homophobic" classic stuff. Nothing you say or do will stop them, so i say sit back, ignore those threads and get a good laugh at the people posting that stuff. Because life is too short to get upset over stuff on the internet.
but why not fight? put him on a headlock and make him go sleep? why not?!doesnt this enrage you?! HIT HIM!!
Not really no. Thing is I've learned getting upset about stuff on the net makes me look foolish, stupid, idiotic. Take your pick. The fact is the net is just something you can come onto, have fun and then leave. I'd rather get upset about something happening offline. Like say losing my net connection, or having a family member yell at me. Those are things that are worth getting upset over. Words on the net... not worth it at all.

For the record, starting a sentence with "I'm not homophobic but..." almost never works.

It just boggles my mind that people think it's okay to make a mean homophobic statement as long as they preface it with "I have a gay friend" or "I'm totes not a homophobe but-". That's just not how it works.
Having a token gay, black, or female friend that you claim to respect does not mean you have somehow entered an exclusive club that gives you permission to make sexist, racist, or otherwise cruel statements. At least not without getting called out on it.
As for the first part of your post: Ok, what should be said then, hm? The littlest thing one says wrong and one gets immediately shot at all sides by people jelling 'OMFG HE/SHE HATES GAYS BURN HIM HE/SHE IS A HOMOPHOBE'. Give me a break, it's never good, even if one tries to be polite. Oh well, 't is the internet, anything is allowed, I presume.
I however agree with the second part of your post. Of course people shouldn't be using such statements just to say something offensive. It's just this 'don't-you-dare-stepping-into-the-hornet's-nest' attitude that bothers me. People flaming and calling bad names just to vent their opinions and convictions...

Bioware really needs to implement a system, which in the same manner as changig profanity to series of asterisks, changes the phrase "I'm not homophobic but..." to "flag me for spam".Ivandra Ceruden wrote...

S/S stuff seems to be way too important for some (are they trying to prove something?) and it annoys some people greatly. If OP meant that, I understand that. I personally just try to ignore it all. I'm rather conservative, straight man and to be honest I've never understand S/S relationships and never will.
Though, reading the title and first post kinda gives mixed feelings about OP. Is he actually ranting about everything?
No one does, and as a bisexual man, neither do I, I just like men, I didn't ask for it, I just do, what do people want from me?

Well, it depends on what one is saying. If one were to say, "I have black friends, so I'm not racist, but racism has turned around so that blacks and women are automatically given a position before a white male." Then that would work fine, as they're not attacking black people. The problem is, as I said in the other thread, is that people are saying that complaining about ingame implementation=homophobia, and that just isn't so. While the OP may have said some confrontational things, he also said the same about the people arguing against s/s.
