But a great straw man.  congrats!

I said *my* throat.  I couldn't care less whether or not you've had enough of this silly attempt  on Bioware's part to  forcefully create a cult of personality out of some random internet celebrity.

She's an actress, not some random chick with a popular youtube video. Felicia day is popular and bioware would be stupid not to use that to sell the DLC. It's called marketing, deal with it.

5 out of 10 people who proclaim they wont buy the DLC usually end up buying it.

I don't understand why everyone rags on Darkspawn Chronicles.. it was fun.

Slightly off-topic, but since this was in response to my comment way back on page one ... I didn't buy Darkspawn Chronicles because it involved killing Dog. Never did that in the main game, didn't want to do it in a DLC. (Slaughtering the rest of my companions? Fine, it's an alternative universe. Killing my puppy? Never!)

Uh, anyway ... I really want to see Lady Hawke's party outfit! Do our companions get new things to wear, as well? I kind of want to make Aveline wear a fancy dress ...

Not buying. Did not like the direction DA2 took at all.

Evidently DA is under severe resource constraints, as evidenced by...well DA2 (and boy did it show), and the only recourse for correcting it is the acceptance of an occasional bone thrown at us or participation in a thread or two of half-hearted, and virtually meaningless, compromises.

As chance would have it, I'm finding myself in the same resource predicament, so funding must be diverted to purchase Lonesome Road.

Did we play the same DLC... ? My companions didn't shut up the whole DLC.

I am talking about actually initiating the convos, not ambient chatter.

ill get it, most likely day one. its like 10 bucks, thats like one meal out or a movie ticket, so its not a big deal. I enjoyed DA2 and Legacy so im confident ill get my 10 bucks worth.

Let's see...

$60 for the game
$7 for the Sebastian DLC
$10 for both item packs for all 3 classes
$10 for Legacy
Now $10 for this...

$97 for a still incomplete game of mediocor quality. I hope I'm not the only one that finds  problem with this..

In all honesty, I hope that we can see some more DLC's for Dragon age 2 that were similar to ME2's... getting new companions or something. :3

Didn't buy any other DLC for DA2. Still have no plans on buying Legacy.

That said, I support Felicia Day and her being in this has me excited. So, yeah, I'm buying this DLC solely because it's Felicia Day.

I am sure Felicia enjoys your support as will Bioware with the purchase. But, it will remain to be seen whether or not the DLC is quality ('quality' being a subjective thing, of course), regardless of the minor star power of the caricature. I thought 'Legacy' made a small advance forward, for my taste (my own emphasis), but it was still far short.

Despite being very disappointed with DA2 and not very thrilled with what I perceive as BioWare's change in game design philosophy -
and being a mild bit concerned about the seemingly increased combat focus of ME3 -

I WANT to support BioWare.  They've made games I consider great, and I still am (pessimistically) hopeful for the Dragon Age franchise.

I don't expect MotA to be terribly good outside of me enjoying Ms. Day's voice acting and (hopefully) some of the quality writing I can usually count on BioWare to deliver.

I'm not ashamed of admitting to liking actors, writers, what-have-you.  I don't think people are inherently cooler for dissing things.
And I'm quite alright with people having different tastes than mine. :P

I really think it has little to do with supporting Bioware (or any company for that matter), they get that if I buy and like their games, of which historically, have shined on me (Black Isle Studios did that for me as well), up until ME2 somewhat disappointed me and DA2 really disappointing me.. Those two games seem to be the indicators where Bioware is going with future games, but I am just one person in a sea of gamers with many preferences, so ultimately, it is up to me to make the choice.

There's no shame is liking actors (voice or in person) for various reasons, we all have our proclivities towards certain artists and their fields of play, so I agree with you there. I am also alright with people who have different tastes (a few on my friend's list can attest to that :D), it makes the world go around. But having read a fair amount of your responses here in these forums, I find your taste is pretty close to mine.

Yes I will. Seems pretty interesting, I liked Stolen Memory, and a DA2 version is most welcomed. Even though it may not entirely be the same. It has the same premise. :)

I definitely plan to get this DLC, just as I got Legacy, which was super awesome. Hopefully this one will live up to the awesomeness of the first one!

People complained when they cast Claudia Black as Morrigan as well. I dunno why, but it's a thing that they do.

I'm a day (hour) one purchase. I like the different tone to Legacy (which I loved) - though I really want something set post-Last Straw that recognises the new world state and my choices. Pretty sure in one of the Q&As a dev said that was coming, so I'm happy to wait.

In the meantime, this looks like a great final caper for my snarky Hawke, Isabela and Aveline set just prior to things going catastrophically badly for the team in the majority of Act 3. Legacy's Grey Warden armour gets some appropriate usage too.

Can't wait.

People complaining about buying DLC's of things that should have been in the game, doesn't really make sense to me(not that I don't agree) but like my boyfriend said, almost if not every company is doing this now, because people will pay for it and continue too, it's a way for them to make more money, and in truth not a bad marketing ploy. It sucks, yes, but if people weren't so upset about the base game, chances are most the people here would be saying yes anyhow...

Indeed. But a great straw man.  Congrats!

I said *my* throat.  I couldn't care less whether or not you've had enough of this silly attempt  on Bioware's part to  forcefully create a cult of personality out of some   random internet celebrity.  *I* have.  Which is why  I won't be buying this thinly veiled Redemption marketing ad.

How are they ramming it down your throat then? Explain this to me. They dont have her splashed all across their websites and boards.
The only time she is even mentioned are for the announcements for the DLC and all it is is "Talis performed by Felicia Day" or something else along those lines.
So again how are they forcefully making a cult personality out of someone far from just a internet celeb. Here you go I went and took a look. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1260407/

I dont understand why they have not done more of it in the past. I just dont get this "rammed down MY throat thing when its far from it.

Wonder if he had the same feelings about Claudia Black and Morrigan? Did you Yrkoon?

I really dont know her other then Eureka and I've missed seasons worth of episodes of that show. I do like redheads...

Yeah, I've not seen the current season of Eureka yet so I haven't had the pleasure - but I do love that show.

More of a Buffy/Dr. Horrible/Dollhouse thing for me.
And, of course, The Guild and everything that goes with that successful project.

But, to be clear, the excitement for me for her in this DLC is due almost exclusively for how much I loved Veronica in New Vegas. Image IPB

In Buffy and Dollhouse.... I'd prolly recognize her. Dr.Horrible and The guild I guess I will need to check out.

And she did Veronica? News to me.

Two hours of gameplay is not worth 10 bucks, so nope.

Well, it has more dialogue than Legacy and a little less combat (not significantly less, though), so I suppose if you skip through most of the dialogue you might be able to finish it in 2-2.5 hours.

Though I imagine you weren't looking for a rational engagement on the length of the DLC. Which is fair enough, I suppose, though I question the reasoning behind it.

I hope it has substantially more dialog and non-combat content than Legacy, even if it doesn't substantially less combat content. That will probably be the dealbreaker for buying it or not, for me. I don't want just another nearly-mindless dungeon crawler, just set in an Orlesian mansion instead of the Deep Roads.

It looks a bit ridiculous when you lay it out like that, I agree. But it doesn't bother me too much (probably the prices should be lower), because the alternative is just them not doing anything you could see for at least another year. Legacy was fun enough that I didn't mind spending some money four months after the game shipped

My main gripe is that $97 doesn't earn you any more maintenance and support than $60 does. You'd think the extra revenue would help them to actually support their products, but apparently every cent of profit just goes into the bank.

If DA2 had been a more memorable game, I would certainly buy. But I uninstalled it before I finished my second play through, when I realized no matter what I played as it was going to be exactly the same experience.

I'd reinstall the game if we could get a DLC with the 3 missing years of the main game though! :)

I can get behind that idea.

New Vegas as had decent patches coming out with the DLCs.

Same with Sword of the Stars and Majesty 2. The continued to do patches fixes and even a free map editor for Majesty2 thru their runs.

No-I don't plan on buying any DA2 DLC(unless we see a cameo from Warden/Anora) and am on the fence about DA3 for now. I expect my game money to go toward Skyrim and any DLC there.

Dev,

As I understand it, and I may be wrong, a portion does go back into the DLC team's budget for the next whatever and as I understand it the DLC team was also supposed to be the patch team, at least that how it got explained with DAO.

I admit, I'd like to see another patch, though my playthroughs of DA2 have been pretty issueless, unlike my new DAO playthrough which froze right during the Ogre attack on the tower.... Sigh.

Yea agreed. They should really start patching the story within the DLCs. Of course, that would bring out the "I have to pay more money to play the game I should've gotten for 60 dollars?!" crowd.

Why that crowd is there from day 1 regardless!

That just cant be helped now a days if some ev/publisher is going to do DLC. It is even going on with the New Vegas DLC's and those would be my examples of what BioWare should strive for. NOT what they should be doing but strive for.

There are still problems with both but this is not the time or place.
