Why can't he come back? He's ****ing awesome man. And if you killed him in DA:O there's precedent of retconning dead characters. He's awkwardly funny in a paranoid sort of way. DA2's talkative man doesn't measure up. Sandal's cool too but IMO not as cool as the Mad Hermit. Any possibility that he comes back for future titles. Maybe even a DLC easteregg?

"But that's all I have to say about that."

Ooh and there's also this. It must be true cause Flemeth said so.

I hear Anders is the current contender for his throne.

But will he ask questions is the real question? Or is that answer?

He will know that THEY sent you. And that your name is not really Winifred.

That is not a question! And if it be an answer, it be an answer to a question I've not asked! Have you no sense for the rules? Wait - that was a question wasn't it?

I also hope he comes back. He'll have his own lemonade stand outside the Grand Cathedral, where he actually sells pickled socks instead of lemonade and throws old cabbage at the people he suspects as being one of THEM.

We never did find out who THEY are, did we?

YES! I would love to see the mad hermit return again. He was always fun to mess with his head. And still when it was all done still have Zevran reach his hand into some "deep, dark hole" lol

I cannot tell; where would he be? His place in this story is done as I see. Far better would be the return of the Grand Oak, whose rhyming verses delight us folk.

Driving on the way back from lunch I thought of the comedy epicness that would ensue from this...

To be honest I don't think anyone can actually kill him. Look at the stump when you enter the area before he is summoned. It starts glowing and whatnot, and Morrigan says that he's using illusions.

Also, yes I would like to see him again.

"What.... is your name?"

sounded suspiciously like the Monty Python way of saying that.

I'm actually hoping he has a somewhat significant impact in future DA games

Now that would have been pretty damned cool. The mad hermit was meant to be found by Hawke, regardless of personality.

Mad Hermit: Do you have knowledge of the arcane arts?

Diplomatic Hawke: (Mage Hawke)Why yes, I do, in fact. I am a fellow mage like you, good Serah! or Non-mage Hawke: No, I do not, but my good friends here are fellow mages like you, good serah!

Sarcastic Hawke: Does being involved in a really wierd menage a tois with a spirit possesed terrorist abomination count?

Agressive Hawke: (Pulls out the murder knife): Mind your own f*cking business!

I always assumed that "they" were either the Templars, Sylvans, or the werewolves. Or all three.

I think the Grand Oak was a bit tiresome. Certainly he didn't achieve the sheer genius that was Halaster.

It was like the See Spot Run of rhyming. There was nothing there to really impress.

Better that the darkspawn put him to the torch near the end of the Blight than to have him return.

The words of the Oak did fill me with delight

And his form, I  believe, was a great sight

But with you he did sadly not impress

A slight he personally cannot address

A veiled insult I have found in your thoughts

And so with indignation I am wraught

I find your words to be empty, your humour to be droll

So in summation I say “STFU, troll”

Oh, please. I purposely refrained from using either "insipid" or "uninspired" when describing him. I thought I was being quite tactful.

Cut me some slack, here! :-)

My beef with the Grand Oak is that he would try to rhyme one word with the SAME word - you can't do that sh!t.

It would be kind of cool if the Mad Hermit would be the main protagonist for DA3 (or at least a love interest).

yeaaaaaa....I killed his ass because he's completely, utterly, and officially bat-****-crazy. Of course, that doesnt mean BioWare COULDNT bring him back. Maker knows it wouldnt be the first time they've handwaved a character's death >.>

Well, at least he ain't rhyming Kodak with Kodak. The Grand Oak keeps his shameless shilling to a minimum.

I totally did not catch that and I'm usually good at IDing voice actors.

Like I said above, I'm not sure the Warden actually killed him. Morrigan says he uses illusions and when you enter the area the tree stump begins to magically glow before he just "appears".

If Mad Hermit's back, I want Idle Dwarf too.
