I'm playing as a Vanguard right now which has a biotic barrier in place of a regular shield a soldier would use.

Kestrel armor gives bonuses to shields, but does that bonus also apply to barriers?  I don't mean the special ability "Barrier" by the way, just the normal shield a Biotic would have.

I tried swapping armor sets on the normandy to see if the barrier values changed, but they didn't.  Though this could because I'm on the Normandy and not in full gear.

Does anyone know if the bonus works on barrier too?

Shields and Barriers are the exact same thing game play wise. Just as "power damage" is universal to tech and biotics.

my armor is supposed to give me , if i recall, a 27% increase in shield, but frankly, i never ran a comparison test by picking another armor and redo the same mission.
i use full kestrel, plus the sentry interface and shield harness .
but now that i have all my upgrades , i'm going to use the strength boost pads for 25% melee damage.

i doubt bonus barrier adds on to your shields . I remember reading about the sentinel's tech armour, where it was said that barrier ( or geth shield or fortification ) adds no surplus protection.
