It's pretty much my standard non-berserker build which relies on sustains and equipment to have a really high crit chance and crit damage (and thus the highest possible dps afaik). Since this was a physical build instead of equipping robes/rings I was wearing armour, allowing a greater emphasis on increasing crit-chance.
at level 22 I had 58% crit chance (upped to 68% with heroic aura) and 113% critical damage. Since I had 100 strength, each level from there ups the critical chance by 3%. Additionally, after the first, each enemy gives +3% critical chance and +5% damage.
(so the stats are: 100 str, 26 dex, 12 mag, 16 cun, 13 will, 14 con)
the general idea behind both my S&S and 2H build is to pick up all the threat simply by running around doing the most damage (bravado from bravery also helps). (And I usually would use a party with a warrior because post-patch their auto-attacks are a little too weak, and things like templar hunters probably require some CC haha)
this clusters enemies allowing attacks to damage a greater number of enemies at once. Also allowing fatiguing fogs to be dropped on them.
Since i'm pretty much min-maxing for the greatest damage, the reaver, vanguard, and warmonger talents (and the templar spec), add up for some massive damage multipliers.
e.g. an almost dead reaver with heroic offense, heroic aura and a rune of devastation will deal +200% damage, or even more depending on how many enemies surround them- and if they crit (which is quite often) you get an extra +113% damage in there (which may or may not be multiplicative). Brand can be useful in this regard.
Oh and lets not forget the +31% physical damage modifer.
So basically, instead of getting hawke healed at ~25% I would get a barrier happening, (and the heal at 10%,) allowing longer periods of angry hawke. And even if you don't pick up that much damage, since hawke only has ~188 health, proportionally it shouldn't take much to get a decent bonus from blood frenzy.
Since in my ideal party setup (anders, merrill, varric) the main brittle CCC will be an archer's lance (and I can just use the +50% critical damage anyhow, I didn't focus that much on the 2H tree.. (but I haven't tested this out so maybe 2H CCCs are worth getting)
On another note, my min-maxed elemental 2H had ~20% less crit chance at 43%-53% (no hauberk of gelgenig or dex pumped), a similar amount of critical damage at 108% or so (although depending on the weapon), but had up to a +64% elemental modifier. But if you choose the right element, you completely face-wipe anything. e.g. a solo 2H elemental warrior using bloom will destroy that fight I recorded due to the +100% damage from elemental weaknesses and it's ignore armour property. Even an element that doesn't hit weaknesses will still probably be superior, but what I think i've found is that the difference may not be as large as I originally had anticipated
