I am going for the Kelly romance, and I'm firmly on the romance path. I invited her up for dinner, I said I'd do more than catch her, I asked if she liked aliens. She was saying "good luck out there shepard" after I talked to her.I'm on PS3, and after I did Kasumi's loyalty mission, She reverted back to "I'll be here if you need anything". I have no other LIs. Is the change in her goodbye a problem?
Kelly romance issue?

No, her goodbyes seem kind of random. I don't think it means anything.

when you beat the game, continue that playthrough, don't choose the option to make another one with that character. talk to her and then go to the captain's quarters and check your mesages and there should be an option right by the private console to call her up.

No, it doesn't. In fact, you can go romance someone else, and Kelly will still occasionally say, "Take care" or "Be careful out there, Shepard" when you speak with her. Her farewells are randomized, and once you unlock her "friendly" and "romanced" lines, they'll continue to come up every now and again.
