Civil War......that's why i have been witnessing when reading those threads about how to implant S/S romance.

I call it a Civil War because its not huge fight between the opposers of S/S romance (for reasons say like hating g@ys, etc) and those who support it, but within the ranks of the supporters themselves.

The people who don't mind having S/S romance in ME3 have split into 2 groups.

1.  Those who have no problem with S/S romance in ME3, however do not want its implantation to change the sexuality of previous characters (minus Liara) who seem to be hetrosexual.  Now this does not mean they are against S/S romance in ME3, they feel that new characters (think Vega) would be better for S/S romance.

2.  The group that feels that all LI's should be availble for your shepard, regardless of Shepard's gender.

For some reason i have seen many members of the 2nd group (exspecially on that last S/S thread that got locked) demonize the 1st group and call them names, like homophobe to name one.  It is as if the 2nd group is trying to view the 1st group as there mortal enemy, those who don't want S/S romance AT ALL in ME3, which is not the case.

It is sad that hate seems to have grown in both groups.  Both sides are both fans of ME, and both sides have no problem with S/S romance, so why the fighting?  Can we not have different opinions in how S/S romance should be implanted, without being called names?  Can't we discuss the pros and cons to the different beliefs of each group, in a civilized manner?

Just my two cents.......

There is usually good and relevant points on both side of the argument, but they tend to get overrun by the people insulting each other instead of adding anything important to the argument at hand.

Because the first group is riddled with genuine homophobes using the pretense of tolerance as a smokescreen. They rather blur together.

How to troll BSN
1. Make S/S thread
2. Watch as thread accumulates 100+ post easily

I really think you are giving your own "Group", a bad name.

I can understand both groups. the people who don't want eisting characters to be changed fear the Copy and paste bioware has done in the past. The other group wants exiting characters because there's already a rapport with them and that's what they've fallen for. I myself am part of the group that wants existing LI's to be available to both shepards because of the Rapport because for Same sex it's hard as hell to get out of someone since (in the time the video game is released instead of taking place) it's a hot button issue. I odn't begrudge anyone that doesn't want their content to be cut for something that doesn't happen in their game, but I do have a problem with people saying "I won't be happy if they get to play their game the way they want because it'll be on my disc too" because that's just rude. I think everyone being avaibale would please the largest group of people. ALL romances are optional content. They do not have to be pursued to complete the plot, so really eventhe romances already in the game don't get played in most games, so why should someone care if Tali is romanced by a male or female commander Shepard? Bioware wants to make Female and Male Shepard unique without one being "better" than the other, and that's the way I see it being true. Even if the characters I like aren't S/S I'll still ahve my modded PT's and my headcanon and that's enough for me.

*random two cents*

So if your only concern truly is story integrity, stop making blanket statements about a story you fear will be bad until you actually see the story. You have no proof of your fears.

Homosexuality is a readily polarizable issue to due differing opinions and a complete and total lack of a middle ground.

Frankly though, I blame Bioware for all this nonsense. They just had to kick the hornest's nest with all their games. It's their own damn fault that people are unhappy about it.

I am of the party who want existing LI's for both genders of shepard. It was stated that several characters for ME2 were supposed to be for both genders. Tali was supposed to be bisexual, Jack aka Subject Zero is bisexual, but the fact is both had their dialogue's cut. There was supposed to be s/s romances for the males too in ME2. Again cut and not because of time constraints this time, but because Casey Hudson had them removed on purpose.

ME1 was supposed to have more s/s romance options but those were cut due to time constraints on the first game.

As for the infighting, I can't really comment on that, but I think it's sickening that they are fighting among themselves.

Indeed.

And I'm willing to reconcile for the time being, as long as Xili apologizes for her hostile behaviour.

Cmon now! It's an "Us against Them!" nonsense! No one will apologize for anything. Their cause is more important than their dignity.

Inaccurate the first group believes that most characters who aren't romanceable in the first two games for the same sex shouldn't be bi in the next game. This is very arguable though and them being bi in ME3 may not be changing their sexuality since they may not have been comfortable with romancing a same sex shep.

Because people say exactly what you said. Instead of just wanting the same thing. If that happened we wouldnt even debate over this.

There's people on both sides of the coin which usually don't shut up about the topic and want some things which the others are opposed of, that unfortunately creates anger and eventually arguments on the forums.

Soon, this too (if it hasn't) will turn into gay-bashing or people being called homophobes.

Impossible since we simply are raised differently and hell we have many many differences in cultures. It is impossible in this day and age.

Though i am of the other group, it is nice you have stated your opinion in a non-deragotory way :P

This is how opinions should be stated, unlike other people who say "I think S/S should be done like "bla bla bla", o, by the way the other group sucks, their a bunch of &%$#@!#$".

This again?

I love how people will argue over gay or straight when it comes to a game that has this...
