I think everybody, including straight males and females, hated that dialogue.

I don't.... because I never romanced him... I saw the Youtube vids and heard that basically Shepard does all the romance and went "yeah.. hes already uesless enough..."

It creates a vicious circle whereby those who oppose the contents of a thread end up it's source of power and growth.

It's why internet trolls are so incredibly successful.

Successful is not the word I would use. This is like droping a deuce. If you mess it up you should be wearing diapers. It's such a charged topic that a few pages are a guarantee.

I think this whole "Civil war" is a bit over the top, the only reason there are such heated debates is because we as a people like confrontation its in our nature to debate and to be very vocal of our opinions and one of the things that make us great...until someone takes it too far, imo Bioware should make the romances more like DA2 where there's equal opportunity but more thought through and less "Love me or I hate you!" like in ME2 (Jack.....) give everyone their fan service, you did it with Tali and Garrus why is this any different, but keep it well written and tollerable (No ninjamances for example) just my two cents...

The answer to all of our problems is to become hermaphrodites.

Because if not for the force of law we'd all kill each other IRL, but one can't do that over the internet.

my main problem is with people asserting so-and-so character is gay/lesbian when said character's sexuality has never been explored. there is nothing to suggest that character isnt gay, but there isnt anything there to the character is either.

I think its unfair to want/demand a character to be one way or another.

Ima say it again, we need to set a date to meet somewhere in the states and seriously just go at it, bring pitchforks, bats, saws, rocks...burning oil, anything but lets get this ball rollin already! all this queery (punt intended) behind-the-desk fighting is extremely lame...why cant we settle the score like we used to back in the day???? you know...when blood filled the streets?

We're geeks!
Best we can do in reality is likely ****slap each other around a bit. The true power of nerdrage can only be manifested through the medium of the internet. :P

The same sex crap is super annoying. That's why I can only visit some threads every few months.
I adore Bioware for make romances available and not just for heterosexuals. That being said I don't want characters changed just to appease some people. And yes since those old characters weren't into s/s romances in previous games I do believe that wholly implies their sexual alignment, not what YOU think it could be or should be. Save the s/s for new love intrests.

Its true. I have been on a lot of forums (which all suck too) but this one is exceptional.

But I have fun talking to all the idiots here regardless.

Someone clearly hasn't paid a visit to the RPG Codex. I felt as if I needed decontamination.

Someone (you) clearly does not use their brain. Regardless that still does not change the fact that this forum ****ing sucks.

Despite being a hellhole that I imagine resembles 4chan (I've never been there thank God), RPG Codex does make good points at times

Tread not on the entitlements of others, but on what others entitle at your expense.

In the case of ME LI's: none of them ever said they were either straight or gay or go both ways. So what's da big deal?! It's not even retconning, it's filling in the blanks.

Yup. we totally needed another one of these threads.

Actually; we do.

The S/S thread is about 100% SUPPORT for S/S in ME.

Yet any thread that criticises it gets spammed, flamed, trolled and locked.

There's more to a discussion/debate than "Yes sir, I agree with you! Let's hug and never disagree or argue ever because all the world is love!"

It's in the game though, and the game is practically finished. What on earth could you hope to accomplish in a criticism thread? A space to vent?

A retroactive condemnation of a decision Bioware made months ago? Or baseless fearmongering about something none of us know anything about - the composition of LIs in ME3? Complaining? Comiserating with your fellow bros? I'm struggling to understand the need for a criticism thread for something that's irrevocably and inevitably going to happen.

EliePinecone - you're talking to a poster with the name "IEatWhatIPoo".

I am surprised this thread has been allowed to go on while the other S/S rant thread was shut down.
