Having recently played the confrontation in 1, I'm don't think Liara is down with the poly-relationship idea (plus the way the sleazy-Renegade-Shep says, it sounds like he/she is talking about just sex), its just Kaidan/Ash are more disgusted and react more quickly.
Liara says she understands the concept of human jealousy(which of course is the result of a cocktail of both biology and cultural reasons) . Ash and Kaidan are both pretty conservative/old fashioned and jealous characters so they are more or less outraged by the thought (and yes Shepard comes across as a bit sleazy in his/her delivery of the proposal) so they prefer missing out. Liara has no problem staying with Shepard though, even though she knows that he/she also are interested in others. Too bad my Ash died on Vermire, sometimes when we loose an opportunity, we loose what it can bring forever. So its important that choices are made for the right reasons.
Which leads me to my second point. Given that the LIs are within a close group of extraordinary individuals thay are all already in a close relationship with oneanother. Do the math.

Liara stays because she doesn't have any competition for Shep anymore. All she thinks is Shep is up for a threesome not polyamory.

LAWL. Close group of individuals does not equate to polyamorous relationship. Platonic, fire-forged-friends closeness is its own trope.

1)
Ash or Kaidan are the ones saying that Shepard must make a choice. Dialouge options allows Shepard to express his or her feelings for both Liara or Ash/Kaidan. While some people might not be that concered over what their parter feels for others as long as they are do not act upon it, I guess most people would like that their partners are monogamous because they are not interested in anyone else.
2)
Nor did I state so. I merely wished you describe the context if the romantic interests was present. In a working polyamorous setting, you do not automatically need to dump someone you love to be with someone else you love or are interested in. Such suffering becomes unnecessary.

1) Just because Ash/Kaidan reacts first to break up with Shep doesn't mean Liara automatically wants to be in a poly relationship. That's a logical fallacy. My entire point was that there is literally no evidence to support Liara being comfortable with any such arrangement.
2) OK, we're meandering well away from the topic. I don't want to comment on the nature of poly relationships, just the fact that within your party, all members have an extraordinarily close bond. But that doesn't translate to them being open to poly relationships.
Sorry, I see no realistic way to do this at all within the game.

1. If one is not jealous and understanding, there is no reason to be against ones partners seeing others. That is why there is no need for any direct evidence.
2. It does not, but it does not make them more closed to it either.

No. Game should have story and not revolve around sex.
Good that this thread is not named "would you support people just sleeping around in ME3?" then.

Polyamory means having more than one LI at a time w/ the full knowledge of everyone involved in the relationship?
What about just raping everyone? That's coolz right....?

But that is what it is about. They just want the ability to have a crazy alien threesome.
Luckily there is no way in hell Bioware would allow for this to happen so I'm not concerned.

You seem adamant about this. Are you attempting to make some sort of point about the difference between polyamory and "LAWL, 3SOME WIN!!!" attitudes?
Of course.
