As a zerg player, I feel like I am at a continuous disadvantage. Now that infestors are getting nerfed, I feel like Blizzard just hates 1/3 of the people that play SC2, if not everyone.

I also believe sentries need to be redone. Being able to FF my ramp with ONE sentry is too effective.

Also, I personally think Miranda should fall into the `being a ****` category. She clearly only exists to do so. As well as look like MJ.

But back to what I was saying. Carriers are a nice substitute for colossi, as they are massive, expensive, tier 3 units. They are also units that no one ever gets. Its a shame.

It should also be said that Jack enjoys killing anyway.

I think Garrus is in it for atonement and purpose in ME2. I'd say he has a death wish, actually.

Same with Thane.

Tali I don't think really has any reason to be on the team at all. I guess she's just doing Shepard a favor for saving her life in Haestrom (and she likes him).

Kasumi is there because she is getting paid, same with Zaeed.

Kaidan and the other Alliance (now Cerberus) personnel are behind Shepard because it is their job. Chakwas is lying when she says she joined Cerberus for Shepard and we know Joker didn't. Ken and Gabby were nearly expelled for reasons concerning Shepard, but they didn't specifically join Cerberus to follow him.

Samara joins to get something she wants, not for any other reason.

I personally don't agree with Tali as being selfish especially in ME 2 cause her whole involvement in the SM gives her or her people no personal gain. The Collectors are attacking humans, not quarians. Heck even in ME 1 its not sure that Tali will get the Geth data from Shepard though getting that could be seen as gain. I see her more enamoured with Shepard for saving her and well at least in the case with my Shepard's they treat her with respect something that most quarians don't see from the other races.

The problem is the connotation that selfish incurs with our use of the word. Selfish isn't exactly negative, but it's viewed that way.

Everyone is selfish, it's just the degree of that selfishness that's in question.  Going to work to pay your bills, for example, is selfish.

I disagree. I think it was pretty clear that Garrus did finally have a epiphany of what he wanted to do with his life (Vigilantism) and was out for revenge instead of redemption/atonement. He was fueled by anger of being betrayed, not so much regret of his mens' lives.

What about saving humanity, stopping the Collectors -> stopping the Reapers, saving the galaxy? Do you think that Shepard and TIM are the only ones with these noble motivations?

I mean, okay, who cares about humanity, but if the Collectors, and by extend, the Reapers, are not stopped, then we're all going to die. Not good enough motive?

And people wonder why I mourn that TIM is not on my side anymore. Where am I going to find another ally who's motivated by the exact same thing that I am, and not by his own petty, selfish reasons? Not a single one of them is doing it for entire species?

I want a totally new crew in ME3.

I disagree. When you talk to him about his squad he berates himself for getting them all killed. On some level he definitely wants to attone.

I thought "death wish" means wishing to die yourself. Thane is certain that he's dying, so it's not up to him to wish for it or otherwise. And I never get the sense that Garrus wants to die. He just wanted to avenge his comrades.

She has a secret crush on Shepard, regardless of Shepard's gender. See her Shadow Broker Dossier.

Agree about Kaidan & human crew in general. But as I noted in OP "duty" is a weak theory of motivation.

I don't think Chakwas , Ken, and Gabby joined because they are Shep fans either. Which is why I put them under different categories than Liara & Legion.

Samara joins to get something she wants, not for any other reason.

What she wants is atonement/redemption.

I was about to say the same. Garrus cares about his old squad. He is motivated by a sense of justice, instead of simply revenge instincts. The best example is Dr Saleon in ME1. The Salarian did nothing to harm Garrus personally, and yet Garrus was very eager to hunt him down.

Notice also that I take both ME1 and ME2 into account. Hence I regard Garrus's overall motivation to join Shepard is for a chance to be more effective without bureaucratic entanglements.

Yes they are both crazy. In completely different ways though. I find Kasumi's banzai attitude particularly endearing.

Also the LOTSB dossier does not mean Tali has a crush on shepard regardless of gender. It never states its for shepard, and she never says she feels that way about femshep, so its all speculation. So you can GUESS she does, but theres no way to prove it.

So what? It won't be long before the pendulum swings back again. Right now it's a necessary move on Blizzard's part because of what the likes of Destiny and Spanishiwa are doing. And the balance will be changed completely with new units from HotS anyway.

Maybe you should take your own advice and switch to Protoss if you care so much about laddering. As for me I play Terran, so I always enjoy playing an IMBA race with IMBA units. LOL.

The game has been unblanced since it was released. Also, its a matter of principle. I should not have to change races. 

Also, knowing Blizzard, HoTS will not be released for another decade.
