Pretty much. They may have humanoid features, but that doesn't mean they still can't be utter freaks of nature. Like Joseph Merrick.

This is possibly the best I've seen, although there's still an aftertaste of the space Elf about it.
Edit: didn't work, I'll try again.

I like this version of Tali too. She has lots of character...and numbers.
Ah damn...too late for the reply.

Actually, taking in mind that everyone wears masks back on the ships, it is possible that quarians find shiny half-transparent masks to be most attractive. Which interestingly correlates with overall wooden Sheploo face.Cutlass Jack wrote...
And since Tali stares affectionately into his face quite a bit, human appearance isn't too far off Quarian scale either.

That has some serious comedic potential. After all, how would Shepard know the difference if someone wore someone else's suit and adopted a voice-synthesizer?xJohnsen wrote...
As long as they all doesn't have the same face(like the Turians) I will be happy.

When is Shepard ever wearing a mask when Tali stares romantically at him? Its always on the ship and in civvies. Off ship is possibly another matter. Though not for my Shep who only is helmed when forced.

Although I do expect to see some cybernetic augmentations. Just a gut feeling I have.

Yep.
Same thing with the female turians.
I know you can make those, BioWare. I've seen the concept art for other species that were whackier than a turian female by far.

No, I won´t be, for the same reason I´m not disappointed that I find Miranda totally unappealing visually or that Thane is an ugly bastard. I really like Tali as a character, possibly my favourite, but she´s still is only a fictional being. Having her be ugly wouldn´t add or substract to the story, in my opinion, so I´d be okay with her being unappealing, as long as she doesn´t look outright revolting.
Further musing:
I believe, on the other hand, that if Bioware wanted to make her pretty, they have one hell of a task ahead (or behind?) of them. Quarians in their suits look sufficiently like humans to appear attractive/cute to us, but making them more like humans, by giving them a "human-inspired" face, might, given their "weird" anatomy, push them right into the "uncanny valley" (google it). Just picture a Quarian with even a completely normal human face. I´d find that pretty creepy. Same goes, albeit for different reasons, for giving them a distictly "unhuman" face, which, btw., isn´t really possible, given what we already know about their facial structure. All this only applies to ingame graphics where a 3D model has to be used, 2D art might be different.
In short: Given human psychology, I don´t believe it´s even possible to make Quarians look halfway appealing ingame, so they might just as well not even show her [Tali´s that is ~edit~] face at all. If they do manage to pull it off, however, their character designer will have proven himself to be one of the greatest artists alive.
