I played ME2 on Windows XP before and it was flawless... Now, on Windows 7 it runs jerky, not even as a real lag, but jerky... Is there some sort of a sollution to this problem?

^ read and give the info requested, paying special attention to not only hardware but drivers as well.

With the lack of info you gave, then the only thing we can do is guess like maybe it is the orbit of the moon or something, because info allows us to at least have an idea of where to start.

Ok, well I have:

AMD Athlon™ 7750 Dual-Core Processor
3.0 GB
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 32-bit
GeForce 9800 GTX+

I havent installed anything additional, no DLC or anything and before that I had the game installed just one time, back when I used Windows XP. Cant think of any other info...

Read the red and try again.

To start, roll back your diver to something around the 258.XX number and maybe even older. That is an older card and new drivers DON'T play well with older hardware.
If that doesn't fix it, then post the rest of the specs listed in the thread I linked too, and maybe we can get somewhere.

Old Geforces seldom work properly (in this game) with newer drivers. nVIDIA doesn't seem to believe anyone is playing Mass Effect these days. The 197.45 drivers, however, should work fine.

One dumb question... Where do I find those drivers?

On the Nvidia site you can go to "beta and archived drivers" from the home page when holding the cursor over 'download drivers.' If you're looking for drivers that are older than the oldest drivers in that archive, you can always try Guru 3D.

So, I did what you guys said. I went to Nvidia official site and I downloaded and installed driver 258.96. For a second I thought there was to be a slight improvement, but as it turned out the things remained the same. Still jerky, smooth at times, but small jerks all over the place, especially when starting to sprint, entering new areas, shooting, etc... Any other suggestions? Thx!

I don't think that the 258s are actually quite old enough to fit both the old video card and this game.  I think that for those oldies, nVIDIA stopping trying as hard after 197.45.  Whatever the oldest there was when Windows 7 was new is probably going to be what you are stuck with.

They are giving up on the PC aftermarket graphics area because they cannot compete over the long haul with AMD and Intel for fullscale computers, either laptops or desktops.  The other two are moving graphics onto the processor, along with memory control and other aspects previously handled by the chipsets.  Eventually, only the High End, which isn't very profitable due to low sales numbers, will be left not covered by the APU combinations.

nVIDIA is diving into the shallow water of Smartphones at one end, and massively parallel scientific processors at the deep end, and letting their former customer base flutter in the wind.  They have no choice.

Well, ok... Another thing that might help is that the game runned great on XP even with the newest drivers, newer then 258. 96...

Disable the aero interface if its running. That sucks up a lot of system resources.
Also, AMD processors are reknowned for having their cores running at slightly different clock speeds, it wold be worth looking at the mass affinity program to see if that can stabilise the cores while running the game.

Depending on what AV package you are running, you could also try disabling real-time scanning, as that can cause problems with some games.

Out of curiousity, what is your audio device? If its Realtek HD audio I would suggest going to Realtek's website and downloading the latest driver from there, as the one that was suplpied with Win7 is known to be as buggy as hell and causes all sorts of weird problems.

Download FRAPS, and run it while playing, and keep an eye on the frames per second counter in the corner. Whats the normal rate, and what does it slow down to? Also, does it become jerky during the dialogue cutscenes, during gameplay, or both?

Finally, what other apps are running and listed in your system tray? (the list of icons beside the clock in the clock on the start bar).

I get an annoying "micro-stuttering" I call it, where FRAPS reports fps at ~60, and it still "stutters".  I tried all those: disabling AERO effects, turning off AV while playing, etc, and the only thing that really seemed to help (although the other ones made minor improvements) was forcing AF and AA in NVIDIA's control panel for my Geforce card down a notch or two, and it finally became unnoticeable.  The game didn't offer any menu settings/solutions, so I resorted to force-enabling/disabling different featuers (LOD, DOF, all kinds of stuff, whatever it's all called) and AA & AF seemed to have the biggest impact on the stuttering issue.

This same issue plagued me in Metro 2033, but the Aero-theme disabling seemed to have the biggest effect on it, besides turning off tesselation and something else in the DX11 set.  Stumped if I can remember the details of that nightmare...still can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning, much less which of the gazillion tweaks I tried to get my game experience silky smooth and detailed — together.
