Co-op is obvious. What other MP mode allows other players to get together as a squad?

Difficult to implement, not impossible.

Not to mention co-op was heavily rumored for months so yeah, at this point I definitely predict it's gonna be co-op. Ain't mad about co-op, especially if it's good.

Add to my earlier concerns that a MP mode will also take up valuable GB of space on the game disc. Space better used for more SP goodness. So, what got cut to make room for MP, BioWare?

I play single player games exclusively so I don't have XBL. It makes me sad that in order to get the full experience, I'll have to pay for that as well. Even if I did have XBL, though, I don't have anyone to play with because I'm not the MP type. One of the main reasons I enjoy ME so much is that it's a high-class single player game.

I'm pretty disappointed.

My god... The people that cancel their pre-orders already. Come on guys, your not forced to play the MP, you can still just play single player. :')

As for me, i'm hoping it will be a co-op mode. Hopefulyl like the first Halo did it. non canon and just for fun, Two Master chiefs in the first Halo, so why not two custom Shepards here? I say yes. Just for fun and replayability,

I'm never sure whether or not to find Bioware's constant denials amusing or annoying any more. It's pretty obvious at this point that a) multiplayer's going to happen at this point and they realize that a lot of us are going to be ticked off. Here's the thing, though: what can we do about it? Who on these forums is really going to refuse to buy ME3 because of multiplayer? Not me, that's for sure. I've already put in my pre-order for the CE, and I've spent too much time on 1 and 2 to just quit now. Sure, after 3 I'm probably done with Mass Effect if/when the game focus shifts to mulitplayer, but EA's pretty clearly aiming for a Halo/CoD style blockbuster, and we single-player fans aren't the "market focus" or whatever. My suggestion is to get ME3, enjoy it, then give them nothing if/when the series goes all in on multiplayer.

Well, that's my two cents, worth every penny you paid for them.

Don't you think they would've announced multiplayer by now if it was going to be in game? The game is like 6 months away from release.

I was devastated when I read the news this morning. Multiplayer has no place in Mass Effect. Sadly, it appears the ME franchise may follow the Assassin's Creed downhill spiral after the inclusion of a forced multiplayer component.

Wrong again.  The NFL sold its license and EA outbid 2k.  And this happened almost ten years ago now.  So the number of greedy organizations has jumped to 3:  The NFL, EA, and 2k.  That EA won the bid doesn't make them more greedy than 2k, it means they have more money to spend on developing NFL games than 2k does.

Hey, what if this mode is actually GOOD? And then people refuse to play it because of their little petty grudges or what have you? Nobody is forcing you to play it, but what if it's actually a pretty fun time? Then BioWare did all that work for nothing just to have some fans crap all over their good work. That'd be pretty sad, but I wouldn't be shocked.

XBL is free. ME3 will have a SP campaign so you can play by your lonesome self Kisarabi. Win-win.

If it's optional drop in co-op, I dont see the problem.

If it's deathmatch, I don't see the point.

No offense, but that makes ZERO sense.

i'll be clearer then MP isnt in the game until bioware themselves confirm it. lets say casey hudson has just this min confirmed it bioware woukd have to put it in b but since they havnt yet confirmed it they still have the option of pulling it from the game if they arnt happy with it, so im only going to believe that MP is in when someone from bioware has confirmed it.

I mean the XBL that allows you to play online. Either way, I'm still missing part of the game even if I solely play SP.
