BW took a gamble with the first ME by going beyond their traditional RPG roots. Good on them for branching out.

Well, if they have multiplayer so be it. That doesn't interest me.

However, if the single player campaign suffers because of it, even just a little, my nerd rage shall be great. ME3 is likely the last game by Bioware that interests me.

There's lots of stuff ME1 and ME2 didn't have that's in ME3, like the Omniblade, and rail shooting, and weapon mods.

It's stupid because your argument is a blanket one against all innovation, not just ones you don't like or don't appreciate.

nobody asked for MP on either of them, no one wants MP on ME3.

Typically it's the other way around, you know - "dumbing down."

This is one of those application of simple for which dumb would be a synonym.

*audible groan*

Someone shoot me.  Seriously.

Shoot you? Why not shoot the one who said something that stupid? I don't even care about multiplayer and that arguement makes me want to bang my head against a wall.

ME is a singleplayer experience, its what everyone wants....how is my statement anything but true? Why add MP to sn SP franchise? or IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT....simples

I asked for multiplayer.

And how many series have not been ruined by multiplayer? How about some of the most popular ones:

Assassin's Creed
Uncharted
Saint's Row

Nah, to be honest I don't really care about the multiplayer. The story of ME3 and character development is more important anyway. People should stop whinin about multiplayer coz there's nothing they can do about it.

So just deal with it, people.

I've finally started playing the ME series with ME1 a few days ago and have been enjoying the game very much. It has taken over my 360. I was soooo appreciative of being able to play a game that hadn't been corrupted by the multiplayer/co-op virus. Sounds like this series is about to get ruined pretty fast.

Well hopefully we'll be able to choose to play the multiplayer/co-op missions missions solo in order to get them out of the way for the achievements and then never have to touch them ever again. Co-op missions tend to be BORING! Not to mention that having a RL person with you tends to ruin the immersion.

Yes, I'm otherwise sure I can find someone willing to boost the achievements should I decide I really want them (the people I know in RL don't play RPGs or don't play games at all), but why can't these companies realize that many of us play these games as a *solo* activity and don't want want to be social with everything we do in life. It has nothing at all to do with whether or not we have friends. It has everything to do with playing games as a way of getting *away* from friends and people in general and immersing ourselves in a very personal gaming experience.

I just loathe that so many great single-player game series are being ruined by tacked on multiplayer/co-op, and yes I'm including the Assassins Creed series. How many people are seriously going to be playing multiplayer Brotherhood once Revelations comes out? If you've guessed "a little more than none", then that's the correct answer. Doesn't matter how great it supposedly is if no one is playing it. The multiplayer will be slightly more active for people on the 360 boosting for the achievements, but completely dead on PC. Just like Dead Space 2. Just like Bioshock 2. And now soon to be ME3 if the multiplayer rumor is true.

I can only hope and pray that Bethsoft continues to hold out against adding online to Elder Scrolls as it may well be the only single-player series that remains uncorrupted by what's turned out to be a multiplayer infection.

it doesnt change the fact that its not true until bioware confirms & that covor was done done in photoshop the background has a blue photo lens on it you can see this coz shep isnt blue hes been placed on top of it.

Of course that cover was done in Photoshop, every cover in a world gets done. ME3 box cover was also done in photoshop lol. Seriously, ain't it better if you accept it now and avoid surprise-raging next week? MP has been rumored for over a year, from various sources and leak, there's been freaking job ads for "Mass Effect Franchise" multiplayer specialists LOL. And now you have Xbox World tgeasing "Killer New Feature", Chris Priestly confirming the press was at Edmonton last month and finally, PC PowerPlay flat out saying they were there too, played Multiplayer mode and will ahve HANDS-ON in their next issue. Really, just accept it. It will make it easier for you next week.

...? have you even been reading what im typing? i said i wont belive in MP until bioware themselves confirm it until then bioware is still free to pull it its they dont have to do anything until they offically confirm it this is so companies dont get themselves in legal pickle, like duke nukem foe ever it was offially confirm but the studio that bruoght it didnt make it so they got sued.

Sure, but doctors also don't solely work for money.  The best doctors are in their field because of reasons outside of money.

That's fine if you prefer it more, just don't tell me it's better because that's where an opinion ends and you start dealing in facts.  And you hit on something about ME2 that tells me it is a game designed with only money in mind; the story.  There are no production line games with solid stories, just like movies and books (Twilight).  ME2 is probably the weakest second act in a trilogy I've ever seen.  It just does everything wrong.  This leads me to believe that ME2 is very Call of Duty-ified because of its emphasis on style over substance.

Side note: couldn't the developers just watch Empire and literally do the exact same thing?  Then watch Jedi and fix the plethora of problems with that and you have a great franchise.

At any rate, I have to go.  Might be back later to catch up, who knows.  I really hate the way these boards are set up so maybe not.

So much hyperbole.

Have you seen how corny the game cover is. A bunch of poorly drawn characters with a banner under it that says, "Save the galaxy with your friends!".

Unbelievable......

Seriously. When I play ME, I am Shepard. This is MY story. I don't want to have to go looking for someone to play the damn coop. It's meant to be a cinematic single-player experience.

And if I wanna play a deathmatch, I'll just go play some game where it's the main mode. Like UT.

Again, your not forced to play the multiplayer part of the game do you? You can still play single player so what is the problem?

Hell, Bioshock wasn't even ruined by multiplayer, as it's still alive is it not? Sure the Bioshock 2 MP sucked, but I think 2K was well aware of that and so far it doesn't seem like Infinite will have it.

If it's campaign co-op, how would it work when say, your just going around talking to people checking out new places and/or with your crew aboard the Normandy?

If you can imagine that people working in an incredibly well-compensated field like medicine might have other reasons for pursuing that career path, then why is it so hard to imagine that BioWare added multiplayer because they think it will be fun?

Juztinb42 wrote...

To me it seems like they tried to do too much and spread the companion butter too thin on the content bread.  That's all I was implying, but now is not the time to discuss ME2's story.

This is literally nonsense.

Because then people would rightly criticize them for blatantly ripping off Star Wars?

The thing is, I spent 46 glorious hours on my first run with ME2. Many games that incorporate multi don't have that kind of length. RPG's are long affairs, sometimes 3-4 times longer than your typical action game.
