I didn't mean stuff like powers, I just meant the basic underlying TPS gameplay - basically the shooting and the cover system. If Bioware think they've nailed that, then that is a good sign.AlphaJarmel wrote...

Just a thought - if Bioware feels that ME3's gameplay is good enough to work in MP, of any kind, that implies that the gameplay has been substantially improved since ME2. This is a good thing.
There would have to be serious improvements to multiple aspects for the multiplayer to work. First they would have to change the physics of biotics such as lift to have an impact on the players themselves. Second they would have to change the time dilation effect. Third, they would have to do serious balancing to the classes otherwise Vanguards will be unbelievably broken.
The underlying TPS gameplay was good enough for a MP in 2. The problem is with everything else which is what makes a ME game, a ME game.

I just checked - there is only one achievement that requires a 2nd player, and it doesn't have to be online (although you're right, it does need MP).RamirezWolfen wrote...

I hope it's DLC, at least. Or better yet, it's on its own disk. I really don't want this crap to be part of the main game.
Also, there better not be multiplayer achievements...
Try again.
Name one with multiplayer people actually talked about.
The co-op achievements could be completed offline in SP.
Not all of them.
Okay, fine.
CoD4: Modern Warfare.
That was talked about quite a bit I hear.

Anyway, that is great news. If done right (co-op and horde mode), multiplayer for Mass Effect could boost the quality of the game enormously.

Or they'll be very, very annoyed and say so on the forums in between their ME3 sessions.
Exactly.
What, nothing about the watercress sandwiches and assorted teas?
I think a peaceful gathering is a great idea!

Hmm, I don't think it was quite there in ME2. I mean, it was good in ME2 but I don't think it was smooth enough for online gameplay, particularly anything competitive. Cover in particular wasn't good enough in ME2.AlphaJarmel wrote...

On the other hand you have the people who support multiplayer and are calmly stating how they are not opposed to it being introduced and disputing the claims that multiplayer will ruin ME. However you also have people on this side who seem to be going out of their way to act like ****s.
Also people who don't care.

Mmmm, don't you just hate the taste of burnt games that have multiplayer achievements and devalue actual achievements a good player that doesn't like multiplayer could've gotten in SP? Delicious.
You're inordinantly valuing achievements inherently, which devalues your opinion on anything relevant correspondingly.
Because we all know your opinions are absolutely fabulous. Maybe your unwarranted sense of self-importance devalues your opinions on anything correspondingly. But wait, that's my opinion, so it really doesn't matter.

This thread is pretty interesting to watch though. On one hand you have the people who express their lack of desire for multiplayer in a calm method and people who seem like they are getting ready to firebomb bioware HQ.

Can I be counted in the "indifferent to multiplayer, but annoyed at all the dumb" category?

I agree, it certainly wouldn't be at the top of the MP games but I thought it would be passable in regards to overall quality and I'm sure they tweaked and smoothed the hell out of it for ME3. The problem is with everything else in regards to combat which is why if competitive multiplayer is in(which I somewhat doubt), it would have to be substantially different compared to the single player.

IKR? Seriously, do we really need to be pushing the panic button? Well... we could but really? REALLY? It was Bioware's choice. Its their product. They are going to cater to the masses. And the masses, I am afraid, are not here on this board. Sorry. Nope. Thus, wait and see what happens. Take a look at it. It may be the greatest thing ever or it may flop and ruin the game. Either way, we have no control over it.Candidate 88766 wrote...
