Favorite is a Tie between Varric and Isabela

Varric, well you just have to play the game to see why he's likable.
Isabela, because well.. she's not what she seems to be.

Worst, there really isn't a worst companion all of them are likable enough to serve their own purpose.

Well a lot of people may not like Anders because of how radically changed he is from Awakening to DA2, but since this is the spoiler forum I can't tell you exactly.

As for Sebastian, I can only suspect it's cause of him being a DLC companion or w/e IDK.

I honestly had no problem with either.

My favorites (not in any particular order) are Varric, Carver, Aveline, Fenris, and Isabela. I think Bethany, Sebastian, and Anders are fairly decent, although Anders is sort of tough to manage (maybe he would have worked better with a few more conversations or a few more reply options?). Merrill is my least favorite; I think she's a fair character and I do like her, but I mostly want to smack her every time she speaks.

anyone who didn't end up betraying me in some way. So Aveline, Varric or Fenris. I don't remember being betrayed by them, anyway, but it's been a while.

Worst? Anders, Sebastien and Merrill all for different reasons. Anders is so far from his Awakenings self in character, looks and voice that he might as well just have been a new character. An extremely whiny new character.

Sebastien is dull, his religious banter with Fenris was foolish and irritating and I got rivalry points with him for some really odd reasons.

Merrill is, quite simply, a ****ing idiot. Like, she is quite possibly the stupidest character in the entire franchise. Not only did she act like a fool constantly no matter how many times she was told she was being a fool by pretty much everyone but her actions ended in me having to kill the entirety of Marethari's Dalish clan, which my Warden had originated from. And she betrayed me in the fade.

Every single da2 companion BUT Sebastian.

Sebastain leaves if you don't please him.. aww poor child.. can't wait to /stab stab or better yet /cast prision on Sebastian. Yes if Bioware allow hawke to kill Sebastian Myhawke will kill him as mage first, that way he can be sure to tell The Maker of how sad is to be "normal" and Weak.. rofl.

People talked about how Alistair whined... meet sebastian and you'll see whinery on the making.

Favorite: 
Varric....Funny, bad ass with the crossbow. Dude never left my party if I could help it. Should have been a character in Origins. As a matter of fact, you should be able to recruit him in ME3, make it happen Bioware, u kin du it!

Worst: Couldn't care less about any of the other companions. Nothing remarkable about any of them. But the two that annoyed me the most. 
Fenris...........stupid emo anime wannabe gimp. Naruto called, they want you back.
Anders......he got turned into such a crybaby douche bag I went without main heals for most of the game, couldn't stand to use him.

Favorite companion: Varric, because I like his personality, he's a valuable member of the party in combat, and the chest hair...

Least favorite: probably Sebastian because he gets overshadowed by Varric in combat, he clashes with any decision that isn't pro-chantry or anti-mage (for the most part), and mainly because he's a dlc character, he has the least effect on the overall story.  I don't hate him as much as I like the other companions more.

Honorable mention for least favorite: Merrill because she's a ******.  Completing her personal quest explains why.

My Favourite would be jointly Varric and Isabella Varric has a good sense of humour even though he does season his stories with wild falsehoods and Isabella well what can i say her self centred attitude aside i just cant resist a saucy pirate wench that likes to play with my rudder lol.After that it would be Aveline i mean everyone needs a sisterly woman shaped battering ram right ?

As for least Favourite its Anders Carver and Sebastian, Anders and Carver Whinge and moan too much and while I'm sure Sebastian has good intentions the constant God-Squad attitude of " The Maker this" and "The Maker that" just makes me think "shut up about the ruddy Maker allready"

My favorite is Merrill because she is just so adorably clueless, and my most disliked is Fenris because he seems to be such a one dimensional character ("I hate mages and was a slave!"), although Sebastian and Anders are also guilty of this to some degree.

I'm not through yet with the game, but so far I like Anders, Varric, Merril and Aveline very much. Isabella is ok, Fenris has an inetrsting character and a good voicing, but he looks too anime style imo. I don't really care for Carver, who is ****ing at my MageHawke every time, when hes is opening his mouth.
I was surprised, that I like Merril, because I hated her in DAO - she was like Hermione Granger without the nice, caring side of Hermione. But in DA 2 she is interesting. She has funny dialogues, but I feel pity for her.
Anders: I know, a lot of people don't like the way, he developed in DA2, but I find it fitting

Hard choice. Honestly, I wans't hugely fond of any of the companions other than Anders and Varric, but my worst would have to be Isabela. Not sure why, I just really, really despise her. I don't think I've ever actually had a playthrough where my friendship was high enough with her to make her stay. xD

Favourite has got to be Varric Almost everything he says is just...brilliant. He should have been a romance option! That would have just made me insanely happy! >w< And, coming a close second, would be Anders. So many people hate him, but I just adoooore him. He reminds me of myself! Incredibly whiny and unpleasant to be around!

Helping Isabella on her quests and sarcastic/witty responses when she's around or when talking to her boost her friendship high enough to play but you have to choose to give the [spoiler] to her in Act 2

My favored would be either Isabella or Varric. I also like very much Bethany.

And worst is either Fenris or Meril - not that i dislike elfs, and even if i would made oversight on their horrible look in game. But the fact that this two has absolutely nothing to do with the two main stories of the game (except Fenris during the Last Straw of course, the thing with amulet is minor, and could have being done by Keeper). I don`t know if they were rushed(dose`t seem so, as Meril has a lots 'talk to' quests) or if they were put into game simply to fill the gap, but they feel completely out of place.

Anders, Isabella, Varric, Hawke Sibling have all important roles in story. And Aveline despite not directly is connected to every problem in Kirkwal due to her role as captain of the guard. Sebastian - although he is`t as great companion, in act 3 he has very interesting and also important personal quest.

My favorite would be Merrill. She is lovable, provides many of the funniest moments in the game and has great character development. And gameplay-wise she is always good to have.
My least favorite one is Sebastian. I kind of like him, but his character isn't that interesting and i don't see much development there. And i don't find him all that useful in gameplay.

Honestly I have no favorite companion in DA:2. I can’t stand them all. If I have to pick I
would nominate Varric as acceptable.

My major complain about them is, they all look pale compared to the followers in DA:O.

1.       Merril: Help the Maker, they will ever bring her back. Help me I´m a stupid, naïve girl living in a big cold city
wearing no boots.

2.       Aveline: She is probably the Last Boy Scout in Town.  

3.       Anders: We know what happed to him, hence did his balls drop of? There is nothing left of this cynical cat-loving mage. His pro mage behavior is way over the top.

4.       Isabella: Look at me I´m a thief, who doesn’t know when to stop.

5.       Sebastian. Such a disappointment. The trailer was promising, hence turned out to be misleading.

6.        Fenris. Oh look at me I have no master, I can’t decide for myself. I hate all mages.
