I understand completely with you but you see there are two kinds of summer movies. There is Transformers 2 and then there is X-Men: First class. Orci and Kurtzman were responsible for Transformers 2 and Cowboys and Aliens, JJ Abrams for the physics defying Super 8 and the nausea inducing Cloverfield, although his work with Star Trek was pretty good. If Mass Effect ends up like Transformers 2 my rage will consume the world in nuclear fire.

Oh you mean X-men first class with Xavier having hair .... As A X-men  Fan that  was blasphamous beyond words   but   that   movies saving grace was you tend to forget about the fact once  Fassenberg and  The guy playing Xavier get going and playing the characters.   Of course there is whole  Scott younger Brother some how being his Older brother and on the team before him thing and  breaks it too.  Xavier, Magneto and Shaw  kinda saved the movie - other that - it is in the same cateorgy of X3  and Nothing  i have seen to date is as bad as X3  mabye expect  The  Blair Witch Project( Still want my time back on  that one I saw it for free)

Matter fact as X-man fan all the X-men movies were complete  Trash to me - They are classic examples of a movie taking oneself too seriously.   First class  gets a pass because they portrayed that relationship between Erik and Xavier  so well and showed the root of their conflict and  Showed that Xavier  way of thinking has its own  faults

As far breaking laws of  physic well  Sci fi has been doing that for years -   I mean some how Spock Dies in Star Trek 2  but is  brought back to live in Star trek 3.     In Sci- Fi you eventually going to come across something that is mind bending   our basic comphrensions of the Cosmos is going to say "Hey that can't Work"  and Mr. Alien is going "Orly watch me"   espeically if you start playing around in the Quatum  relm. As long as they don't break their own establised  rules with in universe the created.

Legendary has updated their movie Q&A panel with more accurate answers, apparently.

http://www.legendary...tions-answered/

MASS EFFECT
Q:  Will it just be an adaptation of the first game, second game, or a completely new story?
A:  It will focus on Commander Shepard's journey, centering around the story of the original Mass Effect game.
Q:  How are you going to address the element of 'choice' that the players have in the game?
A:  The writer is weaving a path through Shepard's decisions
that best supports the narrative of the movie and the motivations of its
characters.
Q:  Will it be a trilogy?
A:  We are really focused on making this a great movie, so we'll see
where it takes us.  We have to get the first one right to know whether
there will be more.
Q:  Will Seth Green portray Joker, the character he voiced in the game?
A:  No casting decisions have been made yet.
Q:  Will the movie be focused on Shepard?
A:  Yes.
Q:  If the movie is focused on Shepard, will it be the male Shepard or the female Shepard?
A:  Male.
Q:  Can you give any hints to potential casting?
A:  No.  Stay tuned.
Q:  Will BioWare allow plot / character changes?
A:  Yes, we are working closely with BioWare on the development of this project.
Q:  Would you consider Daft Punk to do the soundtrack?
A:  We love Daft Punk, but it's too early to say who will produce the soundtrack.

Many are the same answers as before but a few are different. The first in particular is vastly different.

So in other words... it'll be based on the first game, but so completely changed that we'll hardly recognise it so it'll be like a new story? :P

Actually I'm kind of disappointed in the changed answers. The first time around sounded like honest answers to questions... now it all sounds like marketing speak.

Marketing speak sucks, but there was never any doubt in my mind, even when reading the other version of the Q&A, that the movie would be about the Reaper storyline. It's just such an obvious decision to make when adapting a Mass Effect movie that even the most incompetent writer in the world wouldn't be able to justify not using at least the basic plot points from the first game.

My hopes for this movie have pretty much gone down the drain with this news.

At first, I was like, Daaang I hope they get Michael Fassbender (Magneto on X-Men:First class) to play Shepard. That would be EPIC. But then, I remembered this movie was doomed to fail and Fassbender has better things to do with his career.

Arxduke's avatar is exactly how I feel about the movie.

- Batman, Batman Returns, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman: Sub Zero, Batman Begins and The Dark Night.

They can a toilet based on Batman and it would still be awesome. Batman's awesomeness is all-encompassing and cannot be stifled, even with a dump sitting in the middle of it.

I beg to differ: Batman and Robin.

Hell, Batman Forever. For all the hate B & R gets, it's mostly aimed at the direction the movie took. It's trying to be this campy, cartoonish thing, and that's not what people want. It's not a good movie, sure, but it is what it's trying to be.

Batman Forever is just crap. Jim Carrey playing the same character he always plays, Tommy Lee Jones in the most embarrassing performance of his life, Chris O' Donnell being a ******, Nicole Kidman being an insanely horny stereotype...

Oh, and something I noticed rewatching it recently? There are, maybe four or five women with any real screen time in the movie, and they're all sex-crazed.

Predictions:

Shepard will be a male spacer/sole survivor Soldier
Alignment: Paragrade:  renegade attitude but when the chips are down, will pick paragon choices (bad boy with a heart of gold)
Kaidan dies on Virmire
Liara is LI
Wrex lives
Council lives
Shepard recommends Anderson for Councilor but overridden and Udina gets the job.

Something tells me they'd go with Earthborn. Idk, all the stuff about identifying with the character? Yeah, that.
Alignment: Agreed. Anti-hero would probably be the way.
Not sure about who gets virmired.
Liara as LI? Would be interesting, but I guess my opinion would be biased by the actress they choose for Ash.
Wrex must live. Killing him off in Virmire would not be wise, seeing as he's liked by many.
Well, saving the Council is the one choice I won't dare to wonder about. I prefer saving it, seeing as it goes with anti-hero attitude.
I'm with you on that one. At least I hope Anderson gets to punch him in the face during the Normandy theft, lol.
