Wow, I should've made a poll for this or something. As far as I can work out from flipping through the comments the most anticipated games are:

1. ME3
2. Skyrim
3. Arkham City or The Old Republic

I might try to make a quick tally of whether ME3 is the most anticipated or not, but then again I'm not really sure there's any point in doing so. There seems to be a lot of love for ME3 and there seems to be a lot of love for all the other great games coming out soon. Its looking like a good year for gaming, albeit a pretty expensive one.

Well it is the official forum, no surprises there! ;)

I know, but seeing as half the threads on here seems to be complaining about ME3 its nice to see so much excitement for it!

I preorderd the CE, thats all I need to do. It will come when it comes.

I'm more excited about Saints Row: The Third at the moment. It comes out in about a month and a half.

Word. I enjoyed SR2 a lot.

I'm going to have a blast with the third game based on the weapons alone.

It looks great, a bit worried on them going overboard with the silly, but man each new trailer they release looks great, like that Tron one they just released.

They are going to release a character creator for the game a little bit before the release date, looking forward to that.

I've never played a Saints Row game, but I've been looking forward to the third one ever since the teaser trailer which was a 30 second build up to a 2 second clip of a character getting punched in his gentleman's vegetable. And to be honest I like how silly it is - so many games seem to take themselves way too seriously. Thats fine for something like Mass Effect, but sometimes I play games because I want a break and SR3 looks perfect for me.

Nah don't get me wrong, I like the silly. What I mean is, the saints row series always has had a dark undertone to them. (sometimes a little too much but thats another topic) The first game was about cleaning up the city from the other gangs, but eventually becoming said terrible games. The second game was about revenge, and taking back the city you lost and becoming the boss. (you were a lieutenant in the first game, now you lead the saints)

The third game is about becoming an organized criminal organization, rather than a street game, and encountering a much BIGGER organization, with much more money and resources.

I love the silly, but I don't want the game flanderized to that regard.

Ah, so its getting silly at the expense of the general mood of the other Saints Row games. I guess I'm kinda lucky then in that I missed out the first two as I won't be constantly comparing the differences between them. I can see why you'd be concerned that it may be getting too silly - I mean, some of the clips I've seen from it are pretty ridiculous (the pedestrian cannon leaps to mind).

Um, I would put Skyrim at #1 for the simple reason that ME3 won't be coming out until 2012. That and the fact Skyrim just keeps looking better and better. My BF3 friends will wonder wtf happened to me.

Skyrim (mostly because it comes out first and I'm getting it at midnight release)
Mass Effect 3
(I would be happy with those if they were the only ones I could get for a year)

In Order of "Want" if not my Buy order, depending if I can hold out until release if something else come out first.

Borderlands 2
Fallout 4
Diablo 3
Starcraft 2 HotS
Bioshock
Assassins Creed
Rage
Kingdoms of Alamar

Dues Ex would be somewhere close to the top but I couldn't wait for Skyrim first. A sleeper for me also was Dead Island and I got it and it was great

Oh I am not judging Halo was awesome... Halo 2 was the biggest dissapointment ever.... Halo 3 was an epic repreave....

I saw the trailer for Halo 4 and I am dissapointed that it looks like a rip off from ME2 opening sequence.... not saying that it is necessarily but it sure looks like it

Uncharted 3
Mass Effect 3
Lord of the Rings: War in the North
Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Dragon Age 3? (It's obviously coming, just sometime in the future)

I suppose I'm somewhat excited for Skyrim, as I have it preordered, but the plots of the past games have been easily forgettable, and the lack of companions makes me not so excited.

Companions have been confirmed by Bethesda. They'll be like Fallout 3 companions.

Oooh, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Metal Gear Rising. Forgot about those. They definitely need to be on my list. And when is Versus XIII coming out? Does anyone know?

Heh, therein lies the problem. Both games have been really hush-hush... and anyone who knows about Versus XIII will easily say it's been in development for way too long already. There's still no say-so on when it will be released but hopefully once XIII-2 is out they'll start pushing it.... finally!

Yeah, it's kind of a tough gen for us Japanese gaming fans, eh.

Really? Huh, I'll have to Google that.
Never got very far in Fallout 3, so I have no idea what the companions are like. But when I said companions, I was meaning something like Bioware's. They stick with you the whole time (for the most part), you assemble a team, and they actually have plot relevance.

1. Mass Effect 3 (hurr durr)
2. The Old Republic. I am still on the fence on whether I want to invest in an MMO or not, but after hearing so much good about it I can't help but be excited about it.
3. Skyrim. I'll probably get it just to distract myself from dreaming of ME3. Can't say I "anticipate" it very much, though.

Maybe if they invested in a marketing budget I would be. I know of the game, but I am not AWARE of the game you know?

Ah yes 'marketing budget', they have dismissed that claim.
