I'm more excited about Saints Row: The Third at the moment. It comes out in about a month and a half.
Word. I enjoyed SR2 a lot.
I'm going to have a blast with the third game based on the weapons alone.
It looks great, a bit worried on them going overboard with the silly, but man each new trailer they release looks great, like that Tron one they just released.
They are going to release a character creator for the game a little bit before the release date, looking forward to that.
I've never played a Saints Row game, but I've been looking forward to the third one ever since the teaser trailer which was a 30 second build up to a 2 second clip of a character getting punched in his gentleman's vegetable. And to be honest I like how silly it is - so many games seem to take themselves way too seriously. Thats fine for something like Mass Effect, but sometimes I play games because I want a break and SR3 looks perfect for me.
Nah don't get me wrong, I like the silly. What I mean is, the saints row series always has had a dark undertone to them. (sometimes a little too much but thats another topic) The first game was about cleaning up the city from the other gangs, but eventually becoming said terrible games. The second game was about revenge, and taking back the city you lost and becoming the boss. (you were a lieutenant in the first game, now you lead the saints)
The third game is about becoming an organized criminal organization, rather than a street game, and encountering a much BIGGER organization, with much more money and resources.
I love the silly, but I don't want the game flanderized to that regard.
