Earlier search results suggest that there's no way to play the campaing in a 'dead-is-dead' (like NWN 1, you COULD respawn IF you wanted to).
Is there a way to change this ' falling unconscious' state ? Like a .hak ?

The second expansion of NWN2, Storm of Zehir, changed this. That campaign introduced a true bleeding and death system.
Characters reduced to 0 hitpoints will start bleeding one hitpoint per round, until they reach negative half their total hitpoints. At this point, they die.
This is a campaign setting, and also requires SoZ specific scripts.
I think Kaldor Silverwand's "make-over" editions of the first two campaigsn might include the new death system.

It does, on normal or higher difficulty settings.
Harumph!

Just to clarify, you will need to have the SoZ expansion. But inorder to apply to the previous campaigns, that is a special modification made by kaldor, in the link I posted.

Also, I should point out that even with the OC Makeover installed companions will still pop to life in most circumstances. It is required by the heavy use of cutscenes in the OC. The OC requires that the companions be alive at all times. The companions in NWN1 were not necessary for the plot, but the companions in NWN2 OC and MotB are, so they aren't allowed to die.
