A few weeks ago I bought a copy of the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age Origins/Awakenings.

I am on a Mac (OS 10.6.8) but I bought it anyway, like a fool, thinking there has to be some way to get a Mac copy and use my PC key code to play it.

I tried a few ways but just no luck at all. Looked in Wine and Crossover and those things but I just don't understand most of that way.

The last attempt was to download a digital copy (mac compatible - a .dmg file) and use my codes from the packaging that I purchased. You would think this would work, but no.

I put in my code but some place called SecuROM or something says I am not recorded in their database. I don't know who these poeple are, they are not Bioware tho.

I have been watching youtubes of this game and just drooling to get started.

For the love of all things holy and un, I need some advice please.

You need a copy of the Microsoft Windows operating system, from Win XP through Win 7, along with the switching software used on Macs to enable it to handle the second OS (it's called Bootcamp, I believe). There is a Mac forum here, but it's very dead.

There is a Mac digital version that bioware has out, but for some reason (I forgot parts of my long journey through this) there is no easy downloadable mac copy.

There are definitely Mac .dmg versions out there for download that do not require Bootcamp or any other platform transformers, as I have found one and dowloaded over 9 gigs of it.

The hurdle is using the key Code from my store bought version. I should be able to do that, I have a legitimate copy.

Is there a 'contact us' to bioware here somewhere (I don't notice one)

Only to EA, at the bottom center of every page here.

The problem is that Dragon Age for Mac is only avaiable through third-party game retailers (http://dragonage.bio...game/order-mac/). Electronic Arts / Bioware do not offer the Mac version in their own store or download service.

I do not know if the game keys of the PC and the Mac version are even compatible between each other, but from your experience I fear the worst.

Your best bet will be contacting Electronic Arts (support.ea.com/), although you might need to register your game, which in turn could lead to difficulties if you try to get a re-fund at the place you bought it, or if you try to re-sell it.

Thank you very much for your time and info, Gorath.

I sent an email to support.ea.com and hope something can be achieved. As far as the keys being good for both PC and Mac, I've read here and there that yes, they should work for either like Diablo (but Diablo was packaged with both PC and Mac, so that may be a sticky point, as you said).

Dang it, Macs are great for everything but good games. :) and Dragon Age looks so juicy, I am going to dream about it soon.

EA's responsiveness to eMail queries reputedly is quite poor, while their "Chatline" option has gotten some decent comments along the way. The specific link to reach the Chatline should be among Raen Imrahl's summary information in his Round-up sticky post.

The live chat is linked at the bottom of every forum page. After logging in at support.EA.com and going to the support area you will have the option to either wait for live chat support or email them. The live chat techs are...variable in their level of helpfulness, but they are significantly more responsive than the email support and you can always re-connect and get a new person if you end up with a muppet.

No-one here can help with account info. Only EA itself has ther power to do that. At the risk of stating the obvious, are you sure you didn't get that info? Do you have an aggressive spam filter? Check your junk mail folder carefully.
