So a ran into an unfortunate glitch in Dragon Age 2 (Xbox 360) during the wayward Son quest. A map is supposed to be aquired after a battle with some slavers in Dark Town, only i didnt recieve this map at all. I didnt realize that it was a glitch and continued on with the game for several hours doing other missions and only after completeing every other side quest did i realize that something was wr0ng and that i couldnt continue on with the game for lack of this certain map. So i looked it up online, discovered that it was an unfixable glitch that many people had incountered. The only suggestion I could find was to reload a preivous save point. Unfortuately I had saved over any previous points before the glitch so Im **** outta luck and have just lost over 20 hours of game play. Thats not even really what makes me the maddest though. Glitches happen, the makers are only human but i would really appricate a solution to the glitches once they are found. I have found dozens of forum complaints about this issue dating back 6 months and to my knowlage nothing has been done about it. Not to mention the total lack of help I recieved from online support that flat out ignored me. Seriously wouldnt even type back once i asked the question about this glitch. Has something been done about this glitch that i dont know about or does BioWare not care that their game is unplayable 1/3 of the way through?
Dragon Age 2 glitch( Wayward Son) and Im pissed!

Hmm...lucky me to not have run into this glitch in either of my two playthroughs. I didn't know it existed, and I've done this quest both times to it's completion.
If you happen to do another playthrough, I'd suggest working on this quest and finishing it off, instead of moving onto other things, so at least if you get this glitch again, you won't have gone far before realizing that you never got the new map to pop.

I've read of this happening to other 360 users, but I have not heard of a patch/fix other than to reload and try it again. Personally, I've had a couple of issues (during other quests) where bodies were not lootable. I've found that it typically happens if I try to kill and loot the enemies too fast, and resolved it by just being more patient.
In one playthrough, that kept happening to me during Isabela's 3rd Act quest, in Castillon's warehouse. I figured out that looting the room to the right first before killing the baddies resulted in not being able to loot their bodies at all. They never sparkled. Ever. Just for giggles, I tried this method 3 times, and each time, if I looted that room first, I never got the key to the office from a body. Then on the fourth try, I killed all the baddies without looting that room, and all was well - they were finally lootable.
In another playthrough, I got stuck during the endgame. I killed a boss too quickly, and the pink barrier wall never came down. I had to reload and try it again. It sucked, but what else could I do?
I don't think the devs are patrolling the 360 forum like they once did. I was told a while back that they're relying on other users to help back them up. I'm guessing they must be busy working on something else. The EA Agent does hang out there to help with login-type issues, but that's pretty much it.
It's like getting a birthday present when a dev responds in here.

I too am pissed! Same situation...tumble weeds waiting for a fix or reply. I've never had a problem with any other games like this. It sucks. You'd think they'd fix a game that was bugged so badly...especially given the number of units they probably sold.

I'm stuck at the exact same place.
I believe that the bug is caused by the death syphon spell, which causes the unique item loot corpses to disappear.
This really sucks, as there's no workaround (= developer console) in the Xbox 360 version.

I think you can edit the 360 save games i've done a bit changeing Companions models and hawks, there is a uniqe item inventory thing, you could try and putting it in there but you'll need to find the code for the item

I guess this answes my question. Darn. Too bad the support for DA2 seems to be dropped completely so there probaply won't be any sort of remedy. Just have to remember this one (and apparently start a new game after I've cooled down a bit).
