Gamepad support for the PC version.

Its the only thing that really bugs me. As somebody who has arthritis, playing with a keyboard is not really comfortable to say the least. Gamepads make a huge difference during extended gaming sessions. I play every game with it that has the option, and when it doesn't but its workable I use xpadder disdainfully.

The thing is, gamepad controls already exist in the games code and everything, all they have to do is slap a toggle in the menu and its done. So the excuse that they don't wanna spend any resources on it is nonsense.

But instead I'm forced to play with Xpadder which is really not that great compared to the real deal, but Bioware arn't really giving me any choice here. And yeah I get the "well just play the xbox version then" response a lot. No, I want to play it on pc where I get much better graphic performance and sound. I didn't spend hundreds of dollars on this beast to just go play on my xbox. That thing is for exclusives only.

Come on Bioware, pretty please with a cherry on top? I love your games and generally find you to be one of the greatest developers out there. But on this issue your not just behind the pack, your not even on the map. Virtually every other multiplatform pc game includes gamepad support. Gamepads make gaming a much better experience for people like me, and I'm sure there are many other regular pc gamers out there who also prefer it for other reasons. More options is not a bad thing. With gamepad support you can make everybody happy. Keyboard/mouse players still can go that rout, and the rest of us can play the way we want to.

So come on Bioware, make it happen this time. Please?

Yeah well sadly while other game companies do what they can to give players options on how to play the game from the almost standard controller option to the wild "chose your vertical/horizontal axis speed for your mouse" Bioware seem to do what they can to not offer any options at all ..even to the point where you cant disable freaking pop-up texts that's blocking your conversation options in ME 2.

It's sad.

I have no freaking Idea why the fraking people who want to play on a freaking "gamepad" can't play the freaking game on the freaking platforms that are DESIGNED FOR IT, why do they feel the need to put a freaking gamepad into a PC game, when there's a freaking Xbox and freeaking PS3 version FOR THAT FREAKING PURPOSE.

/rage

woah there man calm down. It is up to the player. If they want to play with a gamepad let them. It does not affect me weither they do or do not. If they want it let them have it who truely cares, enough to rage that bad.

Seriously because using a controller on a pc is a viable option these days and while i do play with keyboard and mouse i can understand that there are people who would rather play with a controller.

Without actually playing the game it is hard to say.

Can I wish for more wishes?

If not... change weapon balance such that the weapons fit roles as they more or less do in "real life".  Pistol is a backup weapon.  Shotgun and SMG for CQB, assault rifle is the go to weapon for versatility and DPS, sniper rifle would be for range and high damage per shot.

No the games have not really been balanced that way.  Pistol is a bit overpowered.  Shotgun pellet spread is way too pronounced.  If an LMG is in the game it should have an LMG like rate of fire.

As pistol is a backup, one slot per class is reserved for pistol.

I thought about saying that, but we are not given wishes, but rather a wand that allows us one thing.

Yes, I'm that weird.

One thing? Ooh. Well, it's a toss between:

1. Choices that mean something, and have actual repercussions. Difficult choices, at that.
2. Perfect lore/gameplay consistency. There is no reason biotics shouldn't affect armor/shields, for instance.

Less focus on 'intense visceral combat / button-awesome' and more on compelling storytelling, choices and characterisation.

Can I use this one wish to change the Horizon dialogue on ME2?

If not, then I'm using that wish to make the Horizon incident forgotten by everyone in ME3.

I would add a system that would make any other squadmates not in shepards squad to be useful. As a example you pick you grunt and Samara to be in your squad. After this you then choose Garrus to give you covering fire with a sniper rifle, and choose Miranda to have the shuttle come in to be a distraction to the enemy.

I'd remove lame, un-called for same sex romances (in case there are in ME3)

Example: A gay Jacob, Garrus, Thane etc, etc etc... you know, not tainting characters with a whole new sexual orientation just because a bunch of fans asked for it. I wouldn't mind, for example, if characters that are hinted to swing both ways -like Jack- receive such a treatment, but I'd hate to see something like what I mentioned before in ME3.

Ah yes magic wands. The thin, straight, hand-held magical sticks allegedly made of wood, stone, ivory, or metal. We have dismissed that claim.

All wishes aside, I want the Mako or at least some sort of vehicle so I can explore worlds like the original game.

Yes we should never ever give any players more options to chose how to play the game.. that's just silly.

Seriously. Why can't it be played that way on the platforms that gamepads are DESIGNED for?

There are several advantages to playing on the PC.  Modding, for instance.

I don't see the problem with making ME3 gamepad compatible since it's fairly easy to do, so BW should make it available.  I'd never use it, since like you I prefer mouse and keyboard, but that's not a good reason to withhold the option for those that want it.

And seriously, the guy/girl has arthritis.  Show some tact.

I did not know that, but that has nothing to do with what I was saying...but your first point does. Although I would think you wouldn't do any modding in ME, since modding has never been supported, I can understand that...somewhat.

Cheez, you've cooled my rage. All is fine now. Carry on.

Did you even read my post past the first sentence?

Yes, I have arthritis which is the main reason I desire gamepad support, makes gaming much easier.  I also explained how I've gotten the old "play the xbox version then" response plenty of times before.  As I said in my post that you didn't read, I have a gaming pc and I want to use it.  Pc gamign isnt just for the control style.  Its about having cutting edge technical performance and in most cases more control overt he game like mods and such.  I don't want to play a sub-hd <30fps version of the game just so I can have gamepad support.  I shouldn't even have to make that choice in the first place, and most games don't make me.

I really don't understand why anybody has anythign against the simple option of gamepad support.  If you don't want to use it, don't.  Simple as that.  Adding the option effects you in no way.  So why fight it?

Yea, old character becoming gay is not cool. New characters that are made to be I can handle.

Don't make any old character gay they need stay the same, eventho Ash/Kad were ment to be bi. Leave them straight.

1. Infinite amount of wishes
2. Depending on how Mass Effect 2 ended decideds you're Alliances for ME 3 I.E. With Cerberus/Alliance, choices in ME 2 having real consequences in ME 3.
3. See what Quarians look like
4. Females of other races
5. No rail shooting, looks dumb.
6. When I make a choice it isn't an ilussion of choice but a choice. I.E.

Cerberus Diplomat:"Hey Shepard want to team up?"
Shepard:
"Yes" - You team up with Cerberus operatives
"No" - You fight with Cerberus operatives while continuing the mission
"Talk with team" - Talk it over with teammates for possible consequences for working with cerberus or against them

And not:

Cerberus Diplomat:"Want to team up Shepard?"
Shepard:
"Yes" - You work with Cerberus
"No" - Cerberus Diplomat says it's foolish to not work with him so you decided it's for the best to work with him
"Ask Team" - They say how it would look bad but we don't have a choice and should work with him.

This is a bad example but a basic outline of what I'm talking about. I'm all for a good story but I want many paths to the conclusion not a fork in the road that eventually leads back together or just makes a dead end and forces you to take another path but offered an illusion of choice.

More stuff but my post is getting long

Make common sense, verisimilitude, and lore consistency trump the "Rule of Cool" at all times. In other words:
- No more space-spandex, tactical heels, or breather masks in hostile environments and combat.
- If something explodes, there is a logical reason for it.
- Cutscenes involving space battles are consistent with the Codex description of space battles.
- The Normandy and her crew function like a military ship. (no more ensigns saying they are "picking up something" on sensors, that's just unprofessional)
- No more politicians = incompetent cliche.

Cheez set me straight. And a reason one would fight it is the same reason one would fight multiplayer or something like that: it's detracting from other areas that could be improved. But, as I said, Cheez set me straight.
