Hello, first time posting to this board. I frequently posted on the old NWN1 board ages ago.
I love the game, incidentally. I have the OC and MotB but not SoZ yet. So far, I’m about two-thirds of the way through the OC.
That said, I do have a complaint about the game. Namely, the crafting system. Does it have to be such a perplexing boondoggle? The manual doesn’t do a good job of explaining it. Is there any site that offers a good step-by-step explanation of the crafting process that even a complete idiot like myself can understand? Frankly, I would have preferred a system like HotU, i.e.: “here’s my stuff, and here’s what properties I’d like you to add to it.” That just seems far more intuitive and useful to me, as opposed to following recipes of obscure items.

All right, thank you. I think the real answer to my question is, “such a guide doesn’t exist,” as I’m more confused and overwhelmed than ever!
I’ll try something else: is there a list of powerful items you can find/buy in the game? Sorry, but I find the crafting system needlessly complex and confusing. I guess they were going for “realism” or something but I find that needing to memorize complex formulae spoils my enjoyment of the game. I don’t play for “realism,” I play to have fun!

Ignore it completely, it is not needed to play, or to even win.
Just go and enjoy it as is. It just has it there for those who like that sort of thing, just like romances and the like.
