So, with all of Shep's implants and such, can s/he still have kids?

Just wondering. I've seen a lot of people mentioning that they want ME3 to end with Shep and his/her LI settling down and starting a family, but is that even possible with all the upgrades and implants put in by Cerberus?

Weird topic  but I'm curious. And I haven't seen it discussed before (sorry if it has been already).

For my Shepard it is. She's the dad with Liara being the mom. That's the only Shepard I want to settle down and start a family.

Outside of that, I have no idea. For some reason, I doubt it.

MaleShep, probably as male testicles produce a neverending amount of semen. FemShep, not so sure as those eggs (sounds weird ...) might very likely have died off during her time being ... dead and all that.

Though you never know if Cerberus/Miranda didn't just clone some new ones and implanted them.

Even Miranda is unable to get pregnant.  Is that because of how her father created her or from all the upgrades she was given?  It's something to ponder.

I don't believe Turians and Humans are compatible in the first place.

The implants we ARE shown - could be the type of temporary tech. that dissolves after a time within the body and is simply discarded as waste.

Only Renegade Shepard shows signs of being more robotic.

Personally - I would be mildly irritated if it turned out my Shepard was part cyborg.

I don't get people's obsession over babies in fiction. Write a fanfic and have them adopt a kid, ffs.

I wouldn't put it quite that dismissively myself, but I do think it's curious that this topic keeps coming up. Particularly since the only LI in the series who seems particularly interested doesn't particularly need you to be fertile (or male) to get her pregnant.

This. And Shepard can also grow his/her own child. Like Mr. Lawson. It's not like we're still in 20th century.

I half expect Shepard to be dying from the implants at some point in the game. If for no other reason than to preserve Cerberus's 100% fail rating.

In the Redemption comic, it is noted that Shepard is in such a bad state that no one can tell if s/he was a man or a woman. I imagine both broShep and femShep lost the capability to reproduce in the accident. Whether or not they have that back is up to the writers (or players if it is never mentioned).

Good news, they're the same Shepard! All pumped full of same cybernetic parts, your Shepard is not just part cyborg but 100% pure Cyborg with fake eyes and muscles that can glow in dark if she kicks a kitten!

Who doesn't love awkward, screaming, stinking, completely dependant bundles of skin?
I highly dislike children, I was only curious since I had seen people mentioning starting a family with their human LIs (Kaidan, Ashley, Jacob, Jack, and I think I even saw someone mention it in a Vega romance).

If it were up to me, Shepard would get a German Shepherd puppy and call it good. B)

Nah. It'd be much more entertaining to grow an army of genetically engineered super Shepard Juniors. Then Shepard can rule the Galaxy as father and sons/mother and daughters.

lol this again? Simple answer yes they can, I saw someone mention that FemShep's germ cells would have "died" while she was dead, of course, everything was "dead". But as you saw in the start of ME2, everything sprang back to life, the extra bits and pieces added, more than like cover things that were completely destroyed. Like lets say some intervertebral disc, arteries, veins etc were completely gone, those would have to be replaced, outside of that Shepard's body was simply returned to the way it was before they died.

ME3 SPOILER

In ME3 it will be revealed that Cerberus  was actually trying to make Shepard more dead. Their failure rate is still 100% ;)

END SPOILER

In Miranda's case, I'm thinking her dad made her
that way in order to control her in that way. No father wants their daughter
getting pregnent by some moron, so I'm pretty sure he took it to the extreme
and wanted her to grow her own baby in a tank too.

They actually have recent research looking into
getting a woman's ovaries to produce eggs to help women who are completely born without or have some other medical issue going on that ruins eggs. I can't find the article I read right at this moment, but I know I read about it when I had dicussed the same thing with a friend of mine.  In the future it could be possible if they're just merely considering the idea now.

I question why it's important at all. Why would Shepard want to settle down and have kids, adopted or not. Also several of the LI's just don't seem to be the type to me.

I guess, to each their own fantasy.

implants or not implants, Shepard has his super sperm. Besides, he can always adopt or getting a child like how Miranda "born".

No shep can't have kids unless they're with Liara. Shep should be sterile regardless of sex because after 24 hours after death eggs/sperm are no longer viable. And more evidence to support organics at least can't fix the problem would be Miranda.

If you romanced an alien other than Liara. No. I still can't decide between Kaidan and Thane and I think that might be a problem. I have a hard time picturing Shep's ashy burnt up organs functioning. But if they were able to make her dead heart beat, surely they could make her ovaries functional. (Or testies if your a maleshep) I think The Illusive Man would want Shepard to have kids because he would believe it would strengthen the human race. Any kid with Sheps DNA is destined to be a bad a#$$. You want Shep's legend to continue throughout the generations. :P (I don't think this way but The Illusive man certainly does.)

Maleshep does have supersperm. I'm surprised he doesn't impregnate women just by looking at them. :P

Wasn't the purpose of the implants to kickstart Shepard again? Without them, can't all of his bodily processes continue like nothing happened?
