ITS A ME MARIO!

And also some of you listing all these others you speak, I call Bull ****.

You may know a few or lot of words but I doubt you speak them, least not on the same level as a native.

Anyways.

English.

I knew a great deal of Japanese, well over 600 words, which for them is nothing, I knew basic conversational German. Both of those have largely been lost to me from dissuse. I have a rough understanding of a bit of Mandrian and Vietnamese, from my wife namely. I can gather whats being said by understanding a few words, plus gestures, etc, but speak very little of it. And I can translate Russian writing...but still have no clue what it says.

I do understand a little of spanish, but over all I detest that language greatly, and had no intention of taking it in school, in place taking German, till it was canned then switching to Art. Why? I find it better to learn the native speach, of people who have a good standing in the world, or are set too, such as the Chinese, versu that of the landscaper, that I don't have, as I take care of my own yard.

As to what I want to learn, mandarin, Russian, and Maybe German. Only ones I see as useful.

Spanish could be useful, but it's an ugly language.

Other languages you speak: Welsh and French
I can order beer and ask where the restroom is in over twenty languages. I speak a smattering of Hebrew, read a little Latin and can curse in Spanish.
Languages you want to learn (and why): Russian and Dutch. It'll probably never happen, but my parents used to speak in Dutch when they didn't want their children to know what was being said and my father speaks Russian.

I don't know why people could think that. Clearly French is the ugliest Romance language.

Native language: English
Other languages you speak: Spanish; I grew up in southern California and a lot of my friends / neighbors speak it. I picked it up casually and am now fluent.
Languages you want to learn: German; I love Germanic languages and would like to live there (or Norwegian, for the same reason). I might learn French, too, but only in the event that I could live in Brittany. Mmm, French Celts. Oh, and Russian as well. My boyfriend speaks it fluently on account of his parents.

Native language: Nederlands/Dutch, I speak it fluently, aside from a small dialect.
Other language: English (duh), French, German and some Hebrew.
Languages I want to learn: Hungarian (my grandpa is originally from there) and Silber Gomero (because it's frikkin' awesome!).

Aside from that I know of most languages some basic phrases. I can for example say in nearly all European languages that I have to go to the toilet.

Native Language: Danish. (and no, it is not just a pastry ;) )
Languages that I speak: English, German, French. I speak English fairly well, German bit worse than Franch, but I can still order a room in French. And not to forget a bier.... ;) I also understand Swedish and Norwegien since the Danish school system requires us to learn these languages - at least to an extent.

Languages I would like to learn:
Farsi because I'm adopted and my biological father is from Iran.
I'd also like to learn to speak Italian and Spanish as well as Russian.

It is quite common in Europe to have two mother tongues. In the area around Strasbourg, people speak German, French and ä language called 'sächisch' (saxonish). In Belgium, people speak French and Dutch. (or dialects of these languages).

Native language: English.
Other languages you speak: German, although not yet very well - I'm still learning.
Languages you want to learn (and why): Welsh, Latin and Arabic interest me most, although really in some ideal situation I'd like to learn every language (no way is that going to happen, though). Right now I'm just concentrating on improving my German. Once I've done that to my satisfaction, I'll consider working on another.

Native language: English
Other Languages: Some French - I was getting pretty good at it, but I slacked off in my studies and have forgotten much of what I'd learned. I also know a small amount of Spanish from when I took it in high school for a while.

Native language: Estonian.

Other languages: English, Russian, French, just started German and know a very little bit of Finnish and Latin.

Languages to learn:

Each one of these needs improving. Except Russian, which is pointless right now as I do not intend to go into an environment that needs it or helps with learning it.
I started learning French a while ago, but it's also been a while since I've practised or used it, even though I'd like to.
German and French are the things I really want to focus on, then I'd be happy. Swedish has interested me, Latin has bored me. I hate being stereotypical, but sometimes I'd like to go on a rant in Spanish, like in all of those soap operas.

Languages to learn: Picking up Japanese slowly, my wife has a lot of family in Japan, if she herself was fluent I am sure I would learn it faster but I speak it almost as well as she does at this point. Oddly she can read the language, even if she doesnt know what all the words she is reading mean, I have actually had her read me something and told her what the words meant that she was reading.

If you still can't watch anime without subs or dubs, it's because you haven't watched enough. ;-)
