Native language: Italian
Other languages: English and I can understand French and Spanish to a (very) limited extent
Languages I want to learn: I'd love to learn Japanese (I love anime, manga and I'm very interested in Japanese culture in general) and get better at both French and Spanish
If Italian is your native language, you can eventually learn to speak Japanese really well.
The phonetics are very similar. Most people I know who speak both (either Japanese who learned Italian or vice versa) have pretty good pronunciation.

LOL yeah I guess it's slightly easier for Italians to learn the Japanese phonetics.

It is quite common in Europe to have two mother tongues. In the area around Strasbourg, people speak German, French and ä language called 'sächisch' (saxonish). In Belgium, people speak French and Dutch. (or dialects of these languages).
In Vlaanderen they speak French, English, Dutch and some even German fluently. In Wallonie (southern part) They speak French and only French. Ive been working here for some time (im Scottish) and its like two separate countries.
Btw every language has dozens of dialects.

Other languages you speak: Well, english obviously
I'm from Switzerland so I'm also fluent in german (it's hard to avoid it in my line of work and in this country)
Italian, I live close to the border and often go in northern Italy. It's really easy to learn when you speak french and have some basic in latin from school.
Languages you want to learn (and why): None, it's allready too much and sometimes I tend to blend languages when words are similare.

Languages you want to learn (and why): I'm currently studying Spanish. I'm interested to add it to my list of languages.

Other languages you speak: English and some basic French.
Languages you want to learn (and why): German because it's good for my CV and Italian because I love how it sounds and it's pretty similar to Spanish so it shouldn't be too hard.
Gaming and language definitely overlap. Being able to turn off subtitles was a big ego booster for me
The best part about learning a language is the way it becomes second nature so you don't have to mentally translate what people are saying in order to understand them, your brain just gets it. It feels good when that happens.

Other languages: Latin and Ancient Greek but there's a lot of alcohol between now and when I studied them! A little bit of Indonesian
Want to learn: All the Romantic languages, Japanese, Mandarin and Indonesian. I'd also like to learn Cherokee but I don't want to steal. All of those mainly for work purposes. As much as I adore English literature, I'd like to read more from other countries and some of the translations around are horrific.

But I have decided I would like to learn Japanese.
For me, it would hold the most utility, to be able to watch undubbed anime and actually be able to understand it. Also, if I could become fluent in Japanese, to live or even visit for an extended amount of time in Japan would be something I would try to do.
