I'm wondering if the art designers originally wanted Ash to have long hair but realised the engine couldn't do long hair. I was thinking that they decided to give her long hair not that the engine could support it so they could follow up on their original idea.

I think it was more that they were trying to give her a more of a military feel. Either way I really like the new hair.

yea most hair in ME1&2 are military like short or up in a bun, but now that she is a specter she doesn't need to follow military regulations.

She was jealous of the attention Shepard was giving to Miranda, so she went to the salon.

For some reason, this post pisses me off.

"Kaidan was jealous of all the attention Shepard was giving Garrus, so he painted his face."

PFFFTHAHAHA! The thought of Jelly Kaidan with his self-done Garrus-look fingerpainted on...

She's a Spectre so she loosened up a bit and took her hair out of the bun. No big deal.

Also She's not jealous of anyone.

lol, it's not as if Miranda's hair is what caught Shep's attention. ;)

Could be BW only now has the ability to present long hair but for Ash it just seems off she was very protocol back in ME. If she wants to keep it down on ship that's fine but the Ash I know from ME would never leave her hair down in battle. I think her hair should toggle so in battle its up and on ship where she can relax its down.

In all seriousness, I think the long hair might just be part of her casual appearance.

Well the bun worked and made sense for ME1 so I'm sure that's the real reason they did that.

For ME3 it makes sense for her to have it down or up, but now they have much better capabilities with hair and to be honest Ash fans have been clamoring for her hair to be down for quite some time.

:)

No he's doing it too, ever heard of over compensating? There has to be some reason Ashley is stripping down, and kaiden is bulking up.

I was just joking, Kaidan's actually one of my favorite characters.

Gender stereotyping.

I'm in a societal ragehatey mood.

Pretty sure it's just her hair not tied up in a bun.

I am too. I understand the need to change a character, not changing would make things stale. But dammit this just doesn't feel right.

And with Ashleys writer gone, the changes are all the more worrying.

So, uh...

Am I the only one that dislikes both Kaidan and Ashley?

Indeed, which is fine off duty or during sheps trial, but if her hair is like that during combat throughout the game... I don't know. I guess I won't use her.

Like hair doesn't grow or get longer in two years even if you keep the ends trimmed.;)

It doesn't.  I was hoping ME3 would take a step back from Hollywoodian angst, asses, and explosions.

We get s/s romance and FemShep recognition, but it comes with a beauty contest and a cool but slightly "off" redesign.  When you take two steps forward, you're not supposed to take two steps back.

*ragerageragerageragerage*

This makes me really sad because he was good.  Really good.  Ash may be a love-or-hate character, but she was incredibly realistic.
