Remember she is a Spectre now. Ash may like thicker armor so she absorb more damage to distract the enemy from her teammates. Now she is a Spectre and may be more stealth oriented and would actually want to put out a large amount of damage on the enemy for a short time then move. It depends on how much her battle strategy have changed.SandTrout wrote...
On most characters, I could understand this as a line of thinking. However, in Ashley's case it is directly contradictory to her attitude toward combat. I believe it is one of the elevator conversations where she states that she'd prefer thick armor and firepower to agility in a firefight.
If she had Tela Vasir's armor, or something along the same lines, I would be 100% in support of it, but from what we know right now, she's wearing less armor than Liara, which is out of character.

So...in a video game set in the future, there's no way a woman (who, as we know, are all predisposed to changing our minds) couldn't change our hair, makeup, or clothes? I look nothing like I did when ME1 or ME2 came out, why are we expecting the same thing from Ashley? This thread is so weird.
And OMG, with my "weird" comment, I just channeled Kelly Bensimon (previously) from the Real Housewives of New York. Someone please shoot me now.

Now this is all conjecture and hell that outfit is likely not even the heaviest armor she can wear. One of the Bioware devs alluded to that possibility. Of course Vasir's armor wouldn't work for some people since it appears to have heels lol.

I wasn't either, don't get me wrong, I'm all for giving Vega a chance. I'm just bummed cause it feels like one of my favorite characters is getting shafted.jreezy wrote...

It's threads like these that make me affirm my support for a canon MaleShep, should Bioware ever decide to canonize Shepard.
9 pages about a freaking hair style! Female characters always suffer from the excessive focus on their physical attributes.

I have to ask the same question i keep asking everyone saying "well she's a spectre now" Kaidan is a spectre now. within alliance, he holds higher rank. he's a biotic to boot. A sentinel. Ash is a soldier. Ash has been confirmed to be a soldier class. they both should techincaly have the same resources when it comes to spectre gear. how come he gets nice thick armor and Ash doesn't. and of course... there's Shepard, clad in nice heavy armor. so explain to me - what possible reasons other then "we want her to look sexier" are there for Ash tolook the way she does? oh yeah, Vega the soldier. also wears heavy armor.

I'm sure that since the Krogan and the genophage are important plot points for ME3 that Grunt will get enough screen time.DJCS wrote...

Not because it was ugly armor, but because she wanted to distinguish herself from the other marines so the Geth would know she was a main character. I haven't seen new Ashley in action yet, so I will reserve judgement on ME3 but, damn that armor was girly.iakus wrote...

That's the important part. It was ugly armor. But it was armor. Heck it increased her health regeneration too!

If in ME3 Ash gets to wear a female version of Kaidan's new "I can take on a platoon of batarian slavers all by myself" armor I will withdraw all complaints of Ash. All is forgiven. Even some of the ME2 stuff.
If in ME3 Ash ends up wearing Onyx armor like Kaidan in ME2, or modified N7 armor like Shepard, or Kestrel armor, Or armor like Tela Vasir in LOTSB I'll be so happy even the stupid loose hair will be at least tolerable.
If Ash ends up wearing Phoenix armor again, well, I'll be slightly disappointed, but ugly armor's better than none at all.
If the blue thing is her armor, I'm not playing ME3 until a mod is available to turn it into real armor. In that jacket thing, she looks only slightly better armored than Thane.

No. I'm spiteful that way.
Besides, someone may actually come up with a mod to give her one of those armors...

I don't use mods in my games, and not just because I play on the xbox
