Is it possible to reach level 60 in 1 playthrough? I dont really want to do the game for a second time by completing everything. I already played a long time ago, but my data got erased and I had to start again.

Edit: I am in the middle of a playthrough, can i enable an achievement and give myself xp to do it? I have tried but something isnt working.

Nope. You need to import an existing character. I think you had to be at least level 50-something to get level 60 in the next playthrough. Personally the highest level I've got in a single playthrough was somewhere between 48 and 50 I think.

Also, what extra bonuses are there for transferring a level 60 to ME2?

If a player beats Mass Effect multiple times on a single Shepard, either by saving and re-loading or by starting a new game plus, each "victory" will be a separate Shepard that the player may import to Mass Effect 2. The player need not worry that they are over-writing one of their Shepards, and may review all the major specifications and decisions of a Shepard before they choose to import the file to ensure it is the right file.

Does this mean i can complete a game, reload right before the final fight, add xp to level 60, and complete again?
I want to make sure before i spend like 80 hours completing every single quest, in case I cant actually do that.

Thanks Caradoc, i always waned to know if the bonus granted for a lv60 was better than my lv57.

@Adugan, nope, you need to complet the game twice with the same character, if you reload before the final fight, your character will have the same xp at the time you saved your game, when you start a new game, you can choose to start with a high level character that finished the game, only character that finished the game once are able to be importated to a new campagne or exported to ME2.

Ah, thanks. Also, do my decisions carry over to the second replay, or just my level/talents/achievements?

No decisions do not carry over. XP, inventory, money, etc are all retained.

In fact actually you will get some extra inventory because the equipment Shepard has equipped will get copied into the inventory.

The highest I ever got a new game, after achievements, was 56... several times in fact.  Although I did all the missions, I did not scout every mineral or open every locker or whatever.  Just enough to complete the collection missions.  I also don't have any DLC so there is a bit more XP to be had.  I think supposedly you can hit 58 with DLC.

Yeah 58 can definitely be hit in one playthrough, I've done it twice. Pinnacle Station and BDTS both add a fair amount of XP.

To the OP, IMO the bonuses granted for importing a level 60 character into ME2 over a level 50 character aren't worth the 30 hours it would take to finish another complete game of ME1. You start a couple levels higher and get a few more credits and minerals but that's it. Not even close to being a game breaker.

But they are worth twenty minutes spent activating the cheat console.
