Would you eternally forsake the light of the sun and give up your mortality to 'live' as an undead vampire?

No way. Becoming a glorified parasite with no permanent ties to anyone sounds like Hell on Earth. If I had to be an immortal being, I rather be a trooping fairy of one of the Courts, or better yet, *dead*. Honestly, immortality sounds like a horror show to me. Why would I want this life... forever? No thanks.

Heck, no. The way I see it. I wouldn't be giving up the sun. It would mean that I'd be giving up my family and there isn't any way in hell I'd do that. Especially, if it means that they would be on the menu.:crying:

What is family compared to eternal 'life'?

For me it's a no brainer, weird.

Somebody needs to get out of his dusky room and get a life.

I don't think I could feed off of random people without getting caught for long. Unless there's an easier way to get access to clean and fresh supply of blood.

Do animal blood products work? Even cooked ones like blood puddings or blood sausages?

Well, depends. If I become a Twilight vampire I'll throw myself into a pool of Garlic boiled in holy water >.>

^This, although I suspect that if you lived forever, you'd probably meet lots of people that you love...maybe even the same ones, reincarnated (if you believe in that sort of thing). That part reminded me of The Fountain. LOVE that movie.

Plus, I'm too much of a beach vacation person to give that up - sun, warm weather, fruity girly drink with an umbrella on a beach? Heck no, I wouldn't give that up.

No really, I would most likely embark on some fanatical quest to kill them all.

Just because.

No.

Primarily for health reasons. I get really depressed when I don't get enough sunlight. A year or so of being a vampire I'd be terminally angsty and whiny.

Second, there's the dental issue. Vampires are immortal and presumably suck blood. Diabetes is on the rise world wide so there are loads of people with high blood sugar. Sure you live forever as a vampire, but what good is that when your fangs rot away from all the sugary blood? Vampirism would be fifty years of fangy fun followed by an eternity of toothache and badly fitting dentures.

Also, I really like garlic.

Sure.

I mean, the whole ~having to exsanguinate people in order to stay alive~ thing would be kind of a drag, but I'm sure I could find outlets for that who would not be missed.

Bears fans, maybe.

No it must be the blood of humans, as part of the curse for fofeiting your soul, you are forever tied to drinking the blood of humans. So the Legends say. Also Unlike Twilight apperantly acording to the old tales globally, Vampire's Can't love. Mainly as they are dead mean bastards.

Eh, never going out in the sunlight sounds inconvenient, I may not like it but it's pretty much necessary for the important things. Although I'd not been looking forward to dying frankly, so sure.

MMOs all day, nip out at night to eat, forever. I'd make a great vampire..

That's what vampires do, right?

I guess I'd have to run a blood bank then.

If you truly love someone you'd never make them suffer an eternal hell of being sparkly.

For the non-twilight vampires, the no-sex part is something of a dealbreaker.

Why become vampire when there is a better option? Become werewolf!

For whatever reason I hate the romanticizing of vampires over the last few years. I don't see vampires as cool or any kind of benevolent type of creature. They are rare (not one on every corner), evil, should be greatly feared and should be destroyed.

It's interesting how romanticized Vampirism got due to Stoker's novel.  They were much maligned in the traditional folklore, not romantic or desirable in the least. But...

There's something to the concept, to live for centuries, prey on the weak, have supernatural powers. In the end I'm a morning person, so a night existence would get boring. :P

Actully if you've read older texts, from Europe, Asia, and Africa, all there sorts of Vampires have more in common with that horrid looking thing than any of the TV ones.

I mean I think the fact your a dead, blood drinking abomination, or life absorbing with the Chi Vampire, escapes alot of people.

Yeah, I know what you mean - I wasn't happy with the family I had at all, but once I left and formed my own, my understanding changed.

Well, some vampire myth has them being turn into wolves AND other forms, so you know - that kind of vampire would probably win at supernatural creature Top Trumps.

Whilst we're discussing vampires, I'd just like us to take a moment to remember Mitchell.

 Posted Image

Not only a vampire who was ahem, rather easy on the eye, but a vampire that was properly tormented, damned and doomed, who actually killed nice people, children and suchlike, who lived in empty torture at the profound lack of decency or a soul he, as a vampire, had - and in the end got destroyed. He won't RIP, and nor should he. ;)

Also, had he been dropped in the middle of one of the twilight novels, he could have unscrewed all of their pathetic flouncy heads in five seconds flat, and invited Blade and Selene over for a drink.

Never did I stop to think that the lack of sunlight was the cause of all that angst among vampires.
