the qunari are complete monsters to mages. but i will give them one cookie for this: they don't practice the rite of tranquility. or, at least, it doesn't seem like they do.
Seems that Qunari have something very similer to the right of tranquility but they use it on anyone, not just mages. They have a lot of mindless slave labor that they use, basicly those that do not follow the qun and cant be reeducated are made into mindless labor, while I dont know if its the same as tranquility, it sounds very similer.

I guess it depends on how mindless is mindless. While tranquility can be evil, it leaves the tranquil anything but mindless. They can still make choices and whatnot. They just lack the emotions.
If the qunari method leaves the person brain-dead, while still retaining motor fuctions, i don't see any difference between that and just killing them outright. The body might be moving around but the people is dead on the inside, without any chance of recovery. Since the Qunari believe that the body is just a shell for the soul, and it leaves upon death, they don't see anything wrong with using the body they were just going to get rid of.
I think the most disturbing thing about this is, that the Qunari could easily have a zombie (voodoo not hollywood) army. They might be wielding a shovel at the moment, but it easy to give them a sword and say, "Swing <-- way."

Tell him Bethany is a mage and you'll see him freak out that you are *related* to one. His reaction is worse than saying, "there are no more oreos."

Asking what the Qunari think about mages is a bit like asking what the Templars think about mages. There's a party line of the Chantry "Magic is ment to help mankind, not rule over him" and there's the beliefs of the individual members (Thrask's opinion differs greatly from Cullen's for example).
You see less of this in the Qunari because (a) you don't see them as much and (

They even feel insulted. ' You spat on me. '
Mages are like wolves of war. They are educated, ready to be used as tools, tamed.
But they are considered dangerous if they are seen in nature, free, without no necklace, no chain, and no master to oversee them.
Considered as wild animals. So that's not hate, but may be a logical and thought entirely different.

Now, following the logic of Anders (killing innocent people peripheral to the actual problem in order to create a bigger problem)
If you're talking about the Revered Mother, she wasn't peripheral. She was the head of the Chantry in Kirkwall and therefore the only person in a position to at least attempt to control Meredith, but she refused. Repeatedly.
She may not have abused the mages directly, but she still had a responsibility to them. She wasn't innocent.
Oh, and on topic, I think the Qunari view mages as dangerous, but useful, tools.

That was actually the very first choice I made the first time I played the game. I thought it was actually a little hilarious, especially considering asking your companions to chime in uusally solves the situation without combat.

If a qunari would be given the choice of either hunt down and kill a mage or spread the qun they choose to hunt the mage down and kill it.

They don't hate them, they see them as deffective and dangerous tools. They pity them and will attempt to use them as best they can.dsl08002 wrote...
The qunari hates magic more than anything else, you´ve seen how they treat their mages.

If you speak to Sten in Origins if you have high approval of him you often hear him speak about magic in a hostile way and i belive one of the response about that was this:
" what is this poisinous hate coming from"
Then its the Shepherding quest in DA2 when you escort a saarebas and you meet the qunari who is responsible for keeping them leashed, if you have Anders in the Party then talk to him the qunari shouted out that Anders is mage and that the qun demanded Anders death.
But that conversation just proves that the qunari hates magic
