What qualifies as a solo run? Is there anything special I need to do to start a solo run?
Some sections of the game require one companion or another for reasons related to the storyline -- for instance, Oghren goes with the Warden to the Anvil of the Void. Is there a way to do those sections without that companion? Or is it “solo” only in the sections of the game that can be played solo?
What is the best build for a solo run? I’m kind of leaning toward going with a DW rogue/archer with high stealth and coercion skills. Is that choice a good idea?
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a forced companion, tell them to hold position.

Easiest solo run is mage. The origins story is cake and they have so many good spells.
Daggers are better for rogues than bows. Either way you'll learn to hate the Overwhelm ability.

Okay, tell forced companion to hold position. Makes sense.
And better choice may be mage. That sounds like a good idea. AoE spells may be a lot easier than popping in and out of stealth when outnumbered.
Thanks!

The spells you will need are the ones which control them enemies rather than AoE. Get fireball ASAP (you can get it by level 4) since it knocks the bad guys down.
