Going by how everything else is worded it's allies of the player

I'd say the same thing.

I could see it being of particular use if by "allies" it meant the enemy's allies, because then you could use it as a trigger for launching AOE attacks. But its not of much use if it means your own allies.

It means the enemies allies. So, if you pick Enemy-clustered- surrrounded by at least 3 allies-use ability- cone of cold, the character will use cone of cold on any group of three enemies.

It's really sexy with Blood Wound, Sleep, or waking nightmare. No Friendly Fire ftw.

You are sure? Because that is awesome if so. And will greatly enhance using AOE spells on NPCs in robot mode.

its enemy allies... i use it and Morrigan does cone of cold all the time to control mobs... bad thing is friendly fire because you are not micro managing your caster... so be careful on AOE spells with friendly fire when using this tactic

I tried it with Wynne tonight and she would not use Earthquake with it. In fact Earthquake wasnt even an option with this trigger, only party heal was.

If earthquake isn't an option then have it jump to another tactic that is set up to use earthquake.
