 Soooooooo my wife is currently hogging the TV (Titanic. KILL ME PLEASE!!!!!!) 

Due to severe boredom I have decided to post a conundrum of sorts  that I am currently experiencing. You see, my personal  favorite LI is Miranda. However, I roleplay my Sheps. I have decided to play through the game with all my toons to make sure I have them just right. 

So I just jumped on my canon Shep and while playing, I realized I had no idea who best "fits" my boy John (yeah and he's a Sheploo, I don't wanna hear it!) 

He's a renegon soldier. He believes in galactic stability. He wants to advance humanity but wouldn't go as far as Cerberus. He's ruthless, but not a thug. Basically, he does whatever needs to be done to maintain peace in the galaxy.

So, who do you guys think is best for my canon Shep? 

P.S. No fights over who the best LI is!!!! (because it's Miri )

Miranda or Ashley seem most likely.

Sounds like Miranda would be a good match anyway for your Shepard. Her extreme views are mainly the views of a daughter taking on the opinion of her guardians in my eyes. With your Shepard's influence, he could soften her extreme tendencies as she comes to trust him more over time. Love will find a way to bring opposites together even. I've a paragon Shepard that's frequently disagreeing with Garrus since ME1 yet those two are together. Sooo, why not pair up with Miri since you like her best?

Titanic is one of my favorite movies <3 Your wife has good taste! But that's moot. Anyways...

If your favorite is Miranda, go for her! She actually sounds like she'd fit your canon fairly well.
Ashley could fit well, too, considering she'll be around for a good portion of the game at least (no idea how long Miranda will have in the game).

I always figured Ashley was supposed to be the "true" LI in the series, though what I do for my "canon" Shep is romance Ashley in the first game, choose to save Kaidan and Kirrahe over her, and then romance Tali in ME2 with a grief-stricken Shepard matching up with his (second-most) trusted companion who's also suffered some pretty serious loss since the events of the first game.

Hm. that would be good for the dramatics. Although killing Ashley would suck. I like her!

It sounds like a very Ashley character to me.

My original canon was very similar, she ended up going without a romance though, because she was very much a soldier soldier. Wouldn't break regs or risk her command by shacking up with crew.

I'd say he sounds very Ashley though, or kind of Miranda. If you want some drama on, or your Shepard is the type who'd be angry after Horizon, i would say go Ashley -> Miranda and ride out whatever drama occurs in ME3.

I thought about the two timing thing. What worries me is this "consequences" thing. What does that mean? Is it a chewing out? Or does the girl that got cheated on turn into the Phoenix and consume the galaxy?

Mysteries are amazing. If you don't have a "cheater Shep" though, i'd suggest going for an Ash/Mirrie run. It could prove to be interesting in Mass Effect 3.

nobody can tell you your canon LI because all this will accomplish is everyone invoking their preferred LI and some others flaming other people's suggestions...

If Miranda's your favorite, go for her. The way you described your canon, they'd fit perfectly.

For you I'd say Miranda seems best. Possibly Ash if she's still around and Liara if you really wanted to.

I personally like Liara and Tali best but like I said Miranda seems best for you

"cannon" is a weapon that shoots things, from balls of iron to a motley of things like forks and sticks and **** (for a spread shotgun effect)

"canon" is another way to say official. In this context, it means "Who should I pick for my official Love Interest". People tend to have one Shepard they prefer over the others that they consider to be their 'true' Shep. So yea...canon is another word for official...

I might want to rethink about miranda, since in the ME 3 we will have a facedown with an elite female cerberus agent, it might be miranda or her sister Oriana. That might cause some trouble down the line for all miri lovers.
