I got mouse look working fine in most parts..
but whenever I create a new "level" or "area" I cant seem to do anything but zoom in or out with the mouse.
Alt, Ctrl, Shift + Left, Right, or middle mouse button doesnt do anything.
I can still use 'A' to move left, and 'D' to move right, and keyboard zoom in/out, but i cant use the mouse for anything but the mouse wheel...
Did I miss something ? I also tried changing the mouse control/layout in the options section, no dice.
I'm still going through tutorials, but i see people mouse looking fine in the new levels and areas -- and I can do it too once I load rooms or maps.. but not before hand....
Running Windows 7, and i've already done the first tutorial i see a lot of people reference w/the hut already so the intstall & running is fine.. i just cant mouse look on a *new* area, which is a pain in the *@#$ if i'm trying to do something new.

So i cant figure out the issue with mouse looking...

If the control method is WASD, then WASD should act as expected, with a middle-click enabling you to look with the mouse. If you're using 3dsMax scheme, then I can't help ya. Hate that control scheme

thats the thing >.> i've tried every mouse setting in the options and it wont let me move around inside an 'area' or 'level'... but if i load an existing map, it works...
*sigh*
WASD partially works, but i hate it..
w = zoom in
a = left
s = zoom out
d = right
no up/down options or rotation options
The only keypad option that works is '5' for the 'reset to default above look' i guess it's called >.>
Just want this to work so i can use the toolkit on anything but existing content!

It may be an issue with the toolset not registering the button functions correctly with certain mouse drivers. My husband has a Razer Diamondback 3G with the latest drivers and runs Windows Vista 64-bit, and he has the same issue. I have an old, unsupported Razer Viper and Vista 64-bit (which means no compatible drivers for me in Vista, just basic mouse) and I have no problems with the pan and rotate in the level builder. When he plugs my mouse into his computer and uses that instead, presto!, the toolset works fine.
His searches on the net have yielded a smattering of people complaining about the same thing with no clear answers but plenty of people quick to tell them to just follow directions. Here's another with the problem --> http://social.biowar.../8/index/207673

I have had similar problems with my lap top, vista 64 and a microsoft cordless opticla mouse. My desktop with xp and an older cordless opticla mouse works fine.
One person in a post suggest remapping the middle mouse button to mouse click or something along those lines. I ended up being able to get partial success but it was ugly. I had to switch back and froth between the two mehtods (3dsmax and the other one) as I could only rotate with one and then only move the level north south with the other.
