WoW! I mean just Wow. Dont know what else should I say.

I'm not a big avatar fan, but the shocking part is that how fast they finished and how soon they are starting the new one.

Avatar was a ripoff and thinly veiled hippy propaganda.

It's still going to be a while, because last time I checked, Avatar 2 is coming out December 2014, with Avatar 3 in December 2015. James Cameron is going to spend a ridiculous amount of time with special effects in post-production work.

With a coat of eye candy a mile thick. Cameron has made very few good movies imo. He just relies on spectacle too much.

Lol. He's effectively Micheal Bay's doppleganger.

I agree that it was propaganda (I mean, Cameron did state that it was his intention to make humanity the villain), but what is so hippy about wanting to protect the environment?

The issue is when the message is so transparent it comes across as preachy, and no amount of CGI could cover that.

Unless Avatar 2 has more action than the first I won't see it. I don't go to a James Cameron film for any other reason. :D

I saw it purely for the 3D and it was amazing. When I saw that soilder trade his flying thing for a red pokemon well guess what I was thinking of.

Nothing, but James Cameron has struck me as the kind of person who would let a million people go without jobs if it meant that a species of guppy was protected.

Would someone put the plot of Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World into the terms of this fictional universe, so we might get a sense of what the sequel would be like?

I'll only care about this if Humanity stomps some blue alien ass in the next two films.

Give me a version where they nuke the planet from orbit because it was the only way to be sure.

Its funny because if the aliens had looked like the Pron from District 9 probably not as many people would have liked the movie

I always annoy the people I know who loved that movie by reminding them all that I rooted for humanity.

Also, if that officer in charge wasn't so incompetent fool they could have kicked some blue ass.

I had a chance to watch the 2D version on blu-ray and IMO it looked better than the 3D version I saw at the cinema.

The movie practically bashed you over the head with it's obvious tree hugging, anti-military, anti-corporate message. The blue aliens are perfect in every way while the humans are evil and greedy. And of course they somehow manage to beat them in the end, despite the huge technological difference, aided by a few humans who betrayed their own race. The movie was ridiculous.

I think you guys are seriously over analyzing this movie.

It's a simplistic popcorn movie with a story repeated over and over in many previous films and books. Dances with Wolves for example.

I'm not any sort of environmentalist and this movie didn't make me want to go and join Greenpeace. It's nothing more than an entertaining movie with lots of great vfx and some cool battle sequences.
