I am playing BG1 (Tutu).

I am trying to get through the first 4 chapters as quickly as possible to get some of the NPCs in the BG city.  Right now I'm in Chapter 4 and in the first Cloakwood forest area.  I tried leaving this area by going west and north, but when the world map appears the second Cloakwood forest area does not appear.

I had used the BG1 NPC Project and the BG2 Tweaks - each of which had an option to make all Cloakwood areas accessable before Chapter 4 - I said "yes" to each of these question but the Cloakwood forest areas did not appear on the world map, maybe because I had already started the game before I ran these 2 add-ons?

Anyway, I have uninstalled both of these add-ons and it didn't make a difference.  I re-installed both add-ons saying "no" when it asked about making Cloakwood areas accessable before Chapter 4, no difference.

So now I am in Chapter 4 and cannot move onto the rest of the Cloakwood forest areas, which means I cannot do the Cloakwood Mines and proceed to Chapter 5, so I'm stuck.

Are there any quests/activities I have to do to make this second Cloakwood forest area visible and accessible?  I cleared the Bandit Camp, killed the 4 enemies in the big tent, freed the prisoner, took the 2 letters in the chest, and rested in an inn and got my Chapter 4 special ability.  I skipped most of the areas in order to get to Chapter 5 quickly - is there a specific area or quest I have to do first?

If not, is there a way to fix this?  Is there a global variable I can set using ShadowKeeper?  A command I can run in the console?  Something to make the second Cloakwood areas (and rest of them) visible and accessible on the world map?  Would uninstalling and re-installing BG make a difference?  Or is the problem in the save game files?

I don't want to have to restart this game with this character.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are no further quests you need to do to access other Cloakwood areas I assume the area exits have been corrupted.

.If you have previously visited an area, installing/uninstalling mods won't help, since the area has allready been saved. It only works for new games. Either start a new game, use a saved game from before you visited the affected area or use cheats to enter the other areas.

Your best bet is using the console to access the other areas. Here's a list of the Tutu area codes: http://forums.gibber...?showtopic=8812

Yeah, I already found that page before I made this post.  Unfortunately the URL on that page to download the area.bcs files (http://www.mif.vu.lt/~tado2979/bcs.zip) does not exist anymore.

Hmm.  Once I installed the MODs I went to the first Cloakwood Forest area and tried to get to the 2nd area but I couldn't.  That was back in Chapter 3 so I'd rather not go back to a saved game that far back.

Ok, it's been awhile since I've used the console, and I don't think I've ever used it with area codes.  How exactly do I do this?  Is there a website that explains exactly what I have to do?

first: open Baldur.ini (configuration file, extension may be hidden, reveal using Map Options in Windows),
enter the line Debug Mode=1 under [Program Options]

second: load your game, press CTRL+SPACE to enter the CLUAConsole (a box opens beneath the dialogue screen)

third: enter CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("FW2100") to enter the next Cloakwood Area. You'll enter from a different point of the map, but you can continue your game now.

Dan Simpson's walkthrough at http://www.gamefaqs....ldurs-gate/faqs has a section on cheats, including the command to move to another area. Flamedance's link tells you what the individual area codes are.

note: Baldur.ini may be protected from writing if you install under Program Files in Windows Vista or 7. If you did that: never do that again! and secondly: the writable version of the file will be located in your Virtual Store, or so I've read. Change the file there, then copy-paste back into the game folder.

Wait, did you say you started the game the went and installed more mods?
That almost always breaks a game. Apart from starting again there are only two options I can think of.
Using CLUA to teleport there like others have suggested.
Or copying your saved game file somewhere, uninstall Tutu, reinstall it, install mods, then copy saved game file back into the saved game folder. This might work or might explode your PC.

Ok, I got it. I entered the MoveToArea code and it took me to the 2nd Cloakwood Forest area. And when I immediately tried to leave that area the 3rd Forest area appeared on the world map. Looks like I'm good.

Yes, I have Windows Vista so I have to click Compatibility Files to make the save folder and Baldur.ini file appear - learned that long ago.

Thanks to everyone for all your help.

You're welcome. Glad it worked. I had the same bug once, got help on the old Bioware forum to resolve it, that's how I know.
