I bought the Digital Deluxe edition of Mass Effect 2 on Steam a while ago, played through it, and uninstalled it once I was done.  I recently got a new laptop, and decided to play through again for old time's sake, and try some of the DLC.  However, I can log into my EA Online account, but when I try to put in any of the CD keys (including the Cerberus Network code), I just get an error message saying 'Key code already in use'.

I could understand this if I had bought the game used, but I'm on the same account, using the same keys, just on a different laptop.  Is it already automatically installed, am I going to have to buy a new key if I want to get any of the DLC that needs the Cerberus Network (Zaeed, Normandy Crash Site etc), or is there something I have to do to fix this?

Why would you need to put it in again?  The code is already redeemed.  Just log onto Steam and play.  If you're actually saying that it's just that you can't get the DLC to work, then all you need to do is re-download them from them.  They don't just work, they need to be redownloaded.  Not sure if Steam handles it differently, but for physical retail versions (I don't like or use Steam) http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php is where you can see what you're entitled to and can redownload DLC from.

If you have an actual error, then perhaps you could (why didn't you?) read http://social.biowar...6/index/4795299 first.  It's quite clearly stickied at the top of this forum.  There may also be useful information in http://social.biowar...6/index/6861142 , especially section 2 for DLC and related problems.

Also, EA's Origin and Steam are not the same platform.  Now Bioware's situation here allows one registration to log into either and download/manage a game.  But if you switch from Steam to Origin (which some people are doing with another game of Bioware's to try out a certain Beta patch because they want to get a game just under two years old working well that still has significant problems), you should unistall one version before putting the other on.

OK, I feel like the world's biggest idiot right now (it's been a long week). I've been logging into the wrong account, because I forgot the one the codes were registered to even existed. I am unbelievably stupid! Sorry about that, I'll head off and enjoy my game now...
